I'm in the library and trying to figure out how loud my music can be without disturbing others.

I just bought new headphones because I can't find the old ones, and it's always good to have a spare anyway. I'm trying to decide if I should go to the gym tonight; I haven't gone all week and I'm starting to feel guilty about it.

Hi, I'm Rose. I love music, alcohol, pointless Internet debates and being a snob about my choices in entertainment. I write a lot. You can read some of my writing at Autostraddle.com, the best site for LBTQ women on the Internet, where I am a staff writer. Or the funhouse that is my tumblr. I also write music sometimes, and post the better fruits of my labors on my SoundCloud.

I always feel a little embarrassed when someone points out music coming from my headphones. Usually it's because I'm listening to very abrasive music like Boris (their guitar solos can sound like a police siren going haywire, man), so it's even worse because even though they don't say anything, I always think they're saying in their head, "What the hell is that?"

Alright, I need to grow some 'nads and make myself be productive in the face of anime. See you guys later.

So in listening to Lotte Lenya slurring the lyrics to "Alabama Song," I'm starting to wonder something.

You know how there's this trend of historical dramas now, and a lot of them are being set in the years after WWI? Why doesn't someone do one set in the Weimar Republic? There's SO MUCH potential there. Communists and Nazis, cabaret singers, writers, early filmmakers, thinkers, drunkies of all kinds... it could be epic and fucked-up beyond belief.

I would totally write it, and do the music, and it would totally be awesome. Call me, HBO!

Hey, guys. I did enough productive shit for one day in my book. In English class we're taking part in the great tradition of revamping Julius Caesar into a completely different time period. We chose the American Old West and I just had a bit of fun updating the names, along with switching their genders if the actor put in the role called for it and combining names in the Old West tradition if we combined two characters in the play to save space. Antony/Cato became Amelia Claire, Volumnius became Victoria, Dardanius/Lucillius became David Luke...

I'm having a bit too much fun with this, I think.

I must say, I cannot decipher that.

Also, post in a more cohesive manner, eh?

Also, I haven't been drinking since the weekend.
