Well, that's refreshing to know. It has surprised me how many people will jump on offhand statements and make up these huge, convoluted cases for lynching people based on the most frivolous things.

Mafia games are plagued with inactivity. If someone doesn't post then there's not really much you can say about them.
    That's nice.

I dont like that either. You're supposed to look for suspicious/odd behavior but people will jump on you for every single little thing which makes it hard to play the game. Later games it made me result to lurking a lot becuase one little thing I said would get me lynched and 99% of the time, I was town.

You should make your posts less suspicious then. The fact is, the mafia isn't just going to come out and say "here I am," so you have to expect your posts to fall under scrutiny, especially since the mafia is also going to be looking for opportunities to mislynch.
    That's nice.

Thats not the point, the point is in my experience, literally anything can be seen as being suspicious in some way by some person. It really just makes me want to not post at all and simply observe all the time and thats not really playing to me. Over half the time in my later games, I would barely post.

Which is why there's an incentive to post only a little. But then you can be scrutinized for inactivity and people will suspect you have a malicious night role :/ you just have to be careful with what you say I guess.

The thing is though, certain night roles you really cant draw a lot of attention and you kinda have to lie low, things like cop, doctor, reviver, you name it. Its more difficult if you have a one shot power and you have to choose wisely who to use it on if you want to help your faction. Ive found out the hard way it really sucks to use it on the wrong person accidently.

You just have to be the person doing the accusing. When you are accusing other people, people don't like to accuse you because accusing the accusor is generally scummy. Also the mafia generally doesn't like to either accuse nor confirm people because they like to keep their mislynching options open.

That's one of the reasons why I prefer games where most of the roles are vanilla.
    That's nice.

People make mistakes though, it's all good. I think it takes observational skills and the ability to persuade/lie to perform well, but looking back on the games I've played, luck is definitely the #1 thing.

That's my problem, I'm non-confrontational, which leads to either suspicion or just kind of hanging out :P I'll keep that in mind though.

I just am not really confrontational, hate debating and generally dont know how to make up good strategies, but that's alright it's not for everybody.

I agree with Avarus, I like irl mafia more. I used to play it as a kid at camp and it was really fast-paced and fun. Here, it's still fun and all, but there are so many overarching debates and arguments that it can be exhausting to play (at least for me).

Maybe IRL mafia would be better for me, I dunno I cant predict that, Ive never played it IRL, but forum mafia got to be too much for me to really handle.

The only time I've played mafia IRL I was on shrooms.

Ended up in Glasgow without my shirt.
