Yes for Team Rocket as a whole, probably not for the TRio.
And even if Team Rocket leaves the show altogether, we've got several seasons worth of good Rocket episodes anyway.
It's now been about a month and a half since the Rocket trio was on the show.
There's no way they're sticking around after BW.
I wish there was a way to save posts somewhere. Team Rocket have been in the series since the 2nd episode. They survived the BW shake up something not even Brock managed to do. So I think they will still be around. There are only 5 characters guaranteed a spot in the anime now it seems, Ash, Pika, and the TRio.
To me it seemed like the only reason they cut their appearances down somewhat is because of the vitriolic hate currently circulating the fandom to anything to do with Kanto "we're sick of it etc" as more and more older fans leave the series, the people who are newer to the franchise don't care as much about Kanto, and so find it annoying it's still in the anime, and most probably BW2 (not as the main region, but postgame).
I think when the hatred dies down towards Kanto, the TRio will start making more frequent appearances again. Also they did grow a little stale in previous series and you could see the writers were running out of stuff so since there reboot, I guess the writers dont want to use them too much in case they become tired again.
Originally they came across all serious and had redesigned costumes and were true villains not comic relief anymore, but fans didn't like that so they were reverted to their old ways, while still keeping much of the competence, so in a way they are still different, and its this that Nintendo doesn't want to become stale.
But yes, Jessie James and Meowth survived the BW switch, and so likely will survive whatever Gen 6 throws at them.
They survived the transition because they weren't properly wrapped up at DP's end. You can't very well imagine J/J/M leaving the show without Giovanni taken down and the organization disbanded first.
Both TR and Brock's running gags became beyond stale in the DP series, and I think that was the last straw which is why Brock was finally removed and TR were revamped to barely appear in the show. Sitting through TR and Brock's running gag's got stale by the time AG was airing but by DP it really wore out its welcome.
Likewise its obvious the writers are phasing out the entire older cast, which is likely the main reason Misty didn't even get an episode since 2005. The writers are done with the older cast, and if TR goes, then that's basically it besides Ash/Pikachu.
If they got same amount of focus like they did in previous regions,i would probably say yes,but given how insignificant and sidelined they became its doubtful that Jessie, James and Meowth are going to survive past Unova.
Writers brought back Giovanni, revamped rocket trio giving them in start new clothes and important mission becoming more competent and serious than they were ever before. Granted this can be applied to Jessie and her crew taking task delivered by boss seriously not wanting to fail him,but ever since Team Plasma episodes(which never aired due to earthquake) their importance started to drift away getting back to older uniforms working mostly with dr. Zager.
Best Wishes could very well be last saga Tr is going to be in with revival of TR organization and Giovani implying how there is going to be some grand final with it leading to disband of whole organization.
Than again it may be that writers completely rewrote plans due to Team Plasma two part ending up banned afterwards, changing storyline .
Prior to Castelia city TR was still receiving missions from Giovanni wearing new uniforms. It wasnt until episodes after TP where they were degraded back to old outfits. With this on mind its doubtful if big confrontation with Giovanni and Rocket organization will even happen, with Giovanni possibly evading arrest and carrying on justification behind TR stay for next generation as well.
Though even if TR organization is gone, i can see from where people who say how they might stay come from.
Jessi,James and Meowth are only characters beside Ash which lived for so long in pokemon anime being part of it since very start and fact that Mr. Shudo decided to spare them and keep past Johto when it was considered to get replaced shows how writers valued TR a lot viewing them as important and necessary part of pokemon series. I reckon their goofy attitude, comedy and never ending failures of trying to catch Pikachu were gags which kept them for so long not damaging storyline itself, while giving some break from main story with their lighthearted antics.
Jessie becoming coordinator in Ag and DP was also probably on of ways to strengthen TR role in anime and provide valid reasoning behind their log stay in anime working quite well. Most people welcomed when Jessie jumped on new career fitting character personality and her aspirations. Likewise because of such long stay Jessi ad Jams are to this date most fleshed out characters having rich backstory giving us insight in many things from past which influenced them to become what they are today and what they are searching for.
Perhaps biggest confirmation to how important they are to writing staff basically giving identity to anime along with Ash, can be noticed in decision that even after BW revamp TR still managed to survive.
Transition from DP to Unova went through biggest revamp so far with writers getting rid of contests, going back to formula of one main star and two sidekicks, replacing Brock(after 12 years),getting rid of older pokemon with references to past and previous regions being reduced to bare minimum. BW games are on great deal responsible for that with Unova going in correlation with mess age of "fresh start". However despite all this changes, while Ash as driving force was destined to stay, Jessie,James and Meowth being kept and surviving revamp says A LOT.
Knowing writers, i wouldnt be surprised if TR is even after disband of TR organization kept as comic relief with Jessie, James and Meowth going through some kind of soul searching to acknowledge what they want to do in life. Basically through whole course of pokemon series TR was always searching themselves not knowing what career to follow nor where is their place in world, explaining why Jessie constantly changed jobs.
I doubt it. If that was case Brock would leave already at end of Hoenn with people wanting him leave just as much as they did in DP. Revamp of BW games probably played biggest role in TR revamp and replacement of Brock, with anime going through some drastic changes because of it.
Also i dont know about you, but i thought TR was fine in Hoenn and DP. I enjoyed Jessi role as coordinator working hard and fair to qualify for GF bringing entertainment to contests with her unusual methods, we got some great insight on Jams past getting some good development and TR as group was for most pat still intriguing.
Writers did many fresh things with them in last two generations and im thankful for that.
We cant know that for sure.Quote:

Random returns of Gary,Jessibele, Butch and Cassidy or now Giovanni who were absent for years showed how unpredictable writers can be with older characters and easily make long gone characters relevant to anime and story again.
If someone so minor could return, its possible for ex main companions to return as well with most of them having unfinished things in their stories waiting to be tied up and potential to be done more.
When was the last time they appeared? And is there any other appearance planned for them in one of the episodes which are already known (which haven't aired yet)?
The Rocket trio haven't appeared since January. It is now April.
The writers might as well just wrap up their story already since they clearly don't intend to do anything with them.
Yeah, of course.
I'm just saying that there's no reason putting that off anymore. The writers aren't doing anything with the organization, they aren't doing anything with Sakaki, they aren't doing anything with the Rocket trio...just write them all out of the show already.
Well I called it from the beginning of the saga. Just as we finally saw Brock being written out after 13 years during DP, Team Rocket are probably on the way out next. Finally almost all the original characters from 15 years ago will be gone. And Iris/Cilan will likely leave when BW ends anyway.
And if we're *really* lucky they could finally write Ash out too and give the show a proper ending. I just think the writers finally realize its time to tie up loose ends.
At this point, I think that expecting a proper ending is too much. Even if they do get rid of Team Rocket, that wouldn't mean that they would write out Ash since unlike both Brock and the Team Rocket trio, he and Pikachu are the main stars of the anime. Replacing side characters or the villains, especially when the latter hasn't appeared for months, isn't the same thing as getting rid of the main star. If they were going to replace the main lead, they would have done that ages ago, but that's for another topic. If the writers really wanted to tie up loose ends, then I think that they would have done more with Team Rocket, the trio and/or the organization itself, instead of basically doing nothing with them for months. Like Dogasu mentioned, there's no reason to delay doing anything with them if they really are planning on getting rid of the trio.
Anyway, the lack of appearances does give the impression that Team Rocket won't be around after BW, but I kind of hope that isn't the case. While I find the BW version of the trio boring as dirt and just about as threatening, I would prefer for the writers to come to their senses and give them back their personalities for the next series, if not sooner, and include them more often for the sixth generation series. They clearly don't know how to handle this "serious" version of their characters and while not appearing in every single episode was kind of refreshing at first, it also makes it even harder to feel engaged in whatever storyline they were going for with Team Rocket. Being so boring didn't help either. Plus, I would get tired of people using Team Rocket being written out as "proof" that they could replace Ash when the comparison wouldn't make sense.
I am pretty sure if TR are written out, they would revert back to their old personalities in their final eps. Most likely if Giovanni is done with and TR disbands, there will be 2 or so episodes after where Jessie/James/Meowth have to figure out what to do now that the organization is gone. Much like Misty/Brock/May/Dawn deciding to do different goals or travel to different regions, I can see an episode like that.
Honestly the best thing to do is Jessie decides she wants to be a coordinator again since she was actually getting good at it. She'll likely travel off to a region with Contests and become a full-time coordinator. I imagine James/Meowth would go with her, we'd probably get an ep with James' parents again and Meowth will decide they are his family.
Its really not that hard to write TR out. After all, Brock becoming a doctor came out of nowhere in the second to last episode of DP, even if it might have been subtly foreshadowed for a while.
If they do write out Team Rocket, I do hope that they'll at least showcase their personalities and have them continue traveling together. It wouldn't feel right to make them separate, even with their dull state in BW. Considering that Brock was taking care of sick Pokemon throughout DP and had some bit of foreshadowing, I don't think that deciding to become a Pokemon Doctor came out of nowhere. I think it was more sudden and needed maybe a bit more build-up during the Sinnoh League.
