Despite my preference of leaving all of the BGM alone, I guess I wouldn't mind if they have kept the amount of music in double digits or more. That would have been better than single digits.

Battling The King Of The Mines! kept 9 out of 16 pieces or 56% which is the highest amount of music kept this season.

Back into Pokemon and am now more of a fan than ever

This is meant to be more of a debate than a factual thread; best to post the episode data in their review threads. Thanks.
I'm probably one of the few, but I consider the fact that we get two somewhat different soundtracks to be a bonus. It's nice that we get to see two somewhat different takes on it. I don't want them to replace everything, of course.
It'd be interesting to see a comparative study (using people who never saw either version before).
Seasons =/= Regions
I'm honestly at disbelief that there is actually someone that likes the dub BGM. Statistics aside, I have come across my friends outside the internet about the music in Pokemon. Some don't like the dub music, and others are indifferent either way, but none of them actually liked the dub music. I have yet to find a person who actually likes the dub compositions that fill up space where there's no music in the original as well as not fitting the scenes properly making them bland and boring. I have listened to the BW Japanese BGM and compared it to the BW Dub BGM. The quality is so obvious that even an 8 year old would notice the difference.

I don't really care if they replace music. There are times when the music that replaces the original is better than the original. An example that I can quickly think of is the music that plays in Movie 9 when Jack Walker explains why he wanted to become a ranger and the following scene where Ash and May are swimming. At first, I didn't even know that the music was not from the original but visiting Dogasu's backpack confirmed this. That piece of music is really great.
I'm also not fond of the condescending attitude that most fans show towards people who don't care about replaced music.
Excuse me? I'm sorry but I find that insulting.I'm also not fond of the condescending attitude that most fans show towards people who don't care about replaced music.

Let's leave how other people feel out of this please.
@Jack:
I apologize if you are not fond of my condescending attitude towards people who don't care about replaced music.
Here is a much "nicer" version of my previous post. This is a DP episode review that Dogasu's wrote a year back. This helps supports my point:
Ever since Rival Destinies is now keeping the japanese music as low as 3-5 pieces, I have been in a pissed off mood about this ever since. And what is strange is that after the first episode of RD aired, there has been a slight increase of users that claim they "like" (Air quote on "like") the dub BGM without reason, thought, or contribution. I can't tell if this is coincidental or that they're just trolling (I say the latter).The English version continues to ignore the fans and replaces the Japanese music even though I can't think of a single person who actually prefers TPCI's score to Miyazaki Shinji's stuff. I know of people who hate the dub music, and I know of people who don't really care one way or the other, but I can't say I've ever come across anyone who actually loves the dub-only music and wants to hear it more often. And you never hear anyone say that they outright hate the Japanese music or that they think the dub does a much better job of scoring the show. So, you know, what gives? Who in the world is going to complain if we get an episode that keeps 100% of the original background music?

I wan't even talking to you in particular when I posted that :\
But now I am.
If the dub replaces music, there must be a reason. Maybe licensing it costs more money than making their own. Maybe they weren't allowed to use the music. I don't know. But the thing is, I don't care. People like you saying I should care is what bothers me.
Another thing that irritates me is the elitist attitude that I have to deal with whenever I say I don't care when dubs make edits. Whether it be removing Japanese text, changing Riceballs to Donuts or painting sandwiches over them, changing japanese character names to western ones or replacing the original music. You saying that anyone who says they like the dub music is obviously 'trolling' is an example of the elitist attitude.
On topic, I don't think they should replace music but they should replace the openings because I find the english ones to be far superior. If they do replace the non-vocal songs, all I can say is "what a shame" and move on. I think the english openings are better. But I don't go around saying that anyone who disagrees with me is 'trolling.'

Okay, as Musashi's in-thread warning wasn't apparantly clear enough (even though it is), leave how other people feel about it. This thread is for your own opinion. Whether people are trolling or not has no relevancy whatsoever and if you think someone in this thread is, use the report button.
F&B or PP infractions will be given out if either of you two do it again.
After watching today's episode, I would HIGHLY recommend TPCi to "not" touch the background music at all, unless it is extremely necessary to do so.
