Re: Should Ash age or not ?
Ash had better age...
He would look really nice, be less annoying (I can't lay my finger on the right word) and all that good stuff.

Is the magic of a cartoon, time passes but no one ages.
I get the different generation of pokemon or whatever but if the writers really cared about that then they would have atleast made him to be 11 years old seeing as though the protaganists in the games are 15/16 or whatever. I mean what's wrong with 11? It's not that old.
Re: Should Ash age or not ?
YES! DEAR GOD, YES!
In general, it would help if everyone aged already.
It would easily have solved the VA change problem for the older fans, and provide an in-canon excuse for it that would make sense.
Besides that, it's been 15+ years already. He HAS to be older than 10 at this point. We've even had references in the past to his aging when you think about it.
It's really time to age Ash and company if the writers choose to keep them, IMO.
Re: Should Ash age or not ?
I would love to see Ash age. Maybe at least 13. It doesn't really matter to me though. If GF show him maturing in any way I would be fine if Ash was still 10.
Re: Should Ash age or not ?
For me, it makes more sense to see a 10 year old boy get exited about the magical creatures he discovers, catches and trains, so no.
Re: Should Ash age or not ?
I don't know. The main issue I have with Ash not aging is the fact that he's obviously been a trainer for much longer than whatever new rookie pokémon trainer(s) are introduced each generation, yet he is portrayed as being the same age as him. Maybe not make him age at full speed, but it would have been nice if he was, say half a year older each generation. A little too late now, though.
I feel like he should be about 12-13 by now. Not really a full teenager, but at least older than a rookie trainer.
Re: Should Ash age or not ?
Pokemon should take a play from Ben 10, they made him 16 but still kept his personality pretty much the same.
I mean the writers keep going back on their word. They freaking said it had been a year since Ash started traveling back in Kanto didn't they??

If you're referring to Ash saying it was a whole year since they were in Viridian City, I think that was a line thrown in at the dub, along with moments where Team Rockets said that they were chasing after Ash for years. There was the anniversary of the day Ash and Pikachu met in the Pikachu and Pichu short, which was in both versions I think, but I don't know if the Pikachu shorts are even canon to the series.
Re: Should Ash age or not ?
Ash not aging isn't the problem for me, I personally don't care if he stays 10 for the rest of his animated life. And I'll never understand why people get mad when he doesn't age, him growing a few inches and some facial hair or whatever will not result in him being a better trainer. What I wish for the writers to do is at least have him act like he's gone through 4 regions and is an experienced trainer. There is no need for him to make rookie mistakes and ask stupid questions when it comes to certain things (involving Pokemon from previous regions), that's all I really want out of Ash.

Exactly, don't make referneces to time if no one ages lol. It makes no sense.

I agree. Ash staying ten doesn't really bother me, although I did kind of like it when they kept it vague so people could speculate if he did age or not, but I'd rather have him acting like an experienced trainer too. Besides that, since he'll have the same basic personality regardless of his age, I don't really see the point of making him age.

Aside from the Pikachu and Pichu short, I don't think that there were references to time passing in the Japanese version. That was mainly from 4Kids and a few moments from the earlier seasons TPCI dubbed.

Lol recently they said 3 months passed in the anime, and it was in the japanese version.

I don't see how it's necessary to laugh at what I said. They do say that for how long it is until a new League starts, which is usually either two or three months, but that just shows that time does pass in the series. No one ages despite that though.

I just say lol a lot, don't take it as anything.
I don't see the point in bringing up time passing if no one is ever gonna age.
Re: Should Ash age or not ?
I dont believe that having Ash grow up is a good thing, other anime have done it, and it tends to make less people watch it.
He seems mature to me already anyway.
