Because Serperior suits the female trainer best than the other starters (she even uses one in the promo trailer, so I want to stay true). Besides, Serperior has improved with Dragon Pulse, Aqua Tail, Synthesis, and Outrage.

Samurott is about the worst Water-Type starter.

....... It's still better than Emboar.

Samurott's not terrible; he's just generic, battle wise.

Name one other Water-type starter that could wipe out the Elite 4 of Unova.

Lapras, Jellicent, and Starmie.

Easy. Blastoise, Feraligatr, Swampert, Empoleon.

Blastoise is actually the worst because of lacking offense, but his purpose is to be a wall.

Empoleon= Useless to Marshal.
Swampert= Seems pointless vs. Caitlin.
Blastoise= What Ghetsis-Dennis said.
Feraligatr= NO.

I could easily mop the floor with the team I'm setting up if I had time to leave a spot empty for Zekrom.
