Im failing at beating Red. I need Rare Candies, I dont want to level grind anymore, its taking way too long even with Lucky Eggs.

That's why Gen II is the weakest entry of the Pokemon series.

    Also, I've gotten 2000 posts!

    That makes zero sense.
    That's nice.

I just got my Altaria up to level 83 and swept his team with her.
    That's nice.

It does make sense. The level grinding is dreadfully awful in Gen II games, making it difficult to reach your team to lvl 100 because there aren't any wild Pokemon in their lvl 50s - 60s.

There's the E4. Also, you could argue that you've beaten the game once you beat the E4 and everything else is just bonus.
    That's nice.

The E4 is another example of very limited level grinding, for you're restricting to battling them and Red again and again again, because they have the highest levels in the game, making it tedious. The bonus is a requirement for 100% completion.

I don't think anyone in their right mind would consider 100% completion to be a requirement for beating the game. There are just too many things to do.
    That's nice.

Only if you want get the coolest toys, getting a 100% completion is a necessity.
