Then be careful not to speak to competitive players for they will belittle you for using low tier Pokemon and not following the recommended movesets by Smogon.

And just why would I give a shit about their opinions?

Stealth Rock ruins everything, it makes my Ice Pokemon cry.

^ This. It not only hurts the poor iconic starter, but also ice types and the series' joke characters: the bug types.

Only in competitive battling, which only a fraction of fans really care about.

I honestly dont care much about competitive battling at all. I have tried, but Im not good at it.

But competitive battling is an important factor to be a true fan (GF wouldn't want EVs, IVs, and natures go to waste if they actually cared about competitive play).

I consider myself a true fan of Pokemon without worrying about that stuff.
