Is this thing on?
Welcome to a thread of epic proportion! We like to call it the Random Messages thread, or RM for short. Chat and let the good times roll my friends, anything and everything you want to talk about is at your fingertips, but stay kind to your fellow man and you'll have fun here.
Following the ever important rules doesn't hurt either ;3

The Rules

1. Don't let your emotions trouble the rest of the forum.

Getting along at times is tough, getting through stressful times is tough, and we can work through that if you let us. However, I'd urge you to handle these types of matters peaceably off of Random Messages. Please use your blogs or VMs to handle these quibbles. Hallow♥ is most often available as a mediator if needed if the fight becomes too serious and is affecting more than the people involved.

1.5 Never Trifle with Suicide.

It is not an option that you can handle lightly. I care deeply for every one of our members, and I'd hate that someone here felt they were so at their wits end that they should fall victim to this plot.

No, No, No. Nuh-uh, Just don't do it. People are suicidal, but manage to pull through their depression and tough matters. All the time. And I guarantee you, you can manage just as well if you put your mind to it. Getting to those awesome moments in our lives makes it all worth it.

We won't talk about these issues in this thread. I'm warning you up front, I'll remove you if you do, but don't consider that being mean, I'm doing it to protect the integrity of the forums and people participating here. Talking this over in blogs or VMs or even in the social groups is just fine. If you need some one personal to talk to, PM them first to make sure they're alright for discussing the matters. We're friends here, we want to help when we can and when we're available. And even though I tend to run a busy schedule, feel free to contact me as well.

I'm no psychology expert and don't claim to be as such, but if it's any help please consult these resources for your own benefit.

2 Every Post is a re-post, repost (Don't repost)
So I herd you leik Mudkipz.
Hey, I herd you l3ik da MUDKIPZ!?!
Do u liek teh Mudkipz!11one!? ZOMG

Ok so what? If you don't get any response the second time around, then leave it alone. The topic has probably moved forward if there are a lot of people on. Likewise, don't keep posting if no one is on. Someone will see it and say something when they come on.

Rule is, don't push something onto someone more than twice. This will be the rule of 2

3 We Don't Eat the Cheap Meat

Unless you do, and I'm totally cool with that. :P

More seriously don't make a habit of spamming, but less seriously, what is considered SPAM by the forums, is considered less so here. Have fun, but if it goes to the point of annoyance, then you've gone too far.

This goes hand in hand with the rule of 2. Don't make the same repetitive YES!, picture macro, ..., etc. OVER and OVER. You will be infracted.

4 We Don't Do Da Bump (Unless It's Disco Night)
For incoming posters, this thread does NOT need a bump. It's active enough. It stays on the top.

You will get an infraction for disobeying this.

5 Don't Double Post
Yes, that rule applies here too.

6 Don't You Bring Me Down Today
I want to make this clear. If you start to disagree or argue seriously with someone, I want you to leave right away. Take it outside of this thread, and this forum if you need to. Use your VMs or PMs, but don't do it here, 'k?

If you don't take it out of here, I'll certainly put you both outside of this forum if I have to. Violent threats against each other can lead to disciplinary bans without warning. Because this is your warning here up front.

7 I'm Done With This Place

Ok then. If you really feel you don't belong here, then leave.

Do not ask to be banned. It won't happen. Do not ask to get your account deleted, Archaic himself will not allow it because it messes with the forum database.

Posters always pack up their bags and leave, but we have some who wish to come back after a while. Taking a break off the forums is like a fresh retreat. It's a good thing, in a way. You decide when to comeback, no one is forcing you to be here, but we'd still love to have you over as often as you like ;3

8 Talk to the Kitty

aka, me 83

If there's ever a serious problem, or if there's anything going wrong at anytime at all, DO NOT BE AFRAID TO HIT THE REPORT BUTTON. It's the little icon to the left under my User Info and it looks like this .

Trust me, it does nothing bad. In fact it's a good little tool because it helps notify me and the staff guys that something's up. I'm a busy cat, and I can't lurk around in this thread all day, that's why I need your help to speak up when there's trouble. You can always send a direct PM to me, $aturn¥oshi, Ghost, Hallow♥, or Mintaka, but if you don't feel like PM'ing me directly, use the report tool anonymously. We don't reveal who sent the post, no one here will know and you don't have to feel guilty about speaking up.

8.5. Neener Neener Boo Boo

If you feel you must report a post, do not declare your actions. Doing so only stirs up more drama, and can be looked at as a form of baiting, as you are practically rubbing it in that you have reported them, as well as mini-modding. Keep your reports anonymous and, again, do not report only to get back at someone.

9 When In Doubt, Report

When in doubt. Report.
If someone is acting beyond stupid. Report.
If something serious is going on. Report.
If you think someone is breaking a rule. Report.
If Timmy fell down the well. Report.
If Report report report, report? Report.
If there's a dog in the thread. Report
The only time I say don't report, is if you are doing it to get back at someone. This isn't something you can use for your personal vendetta. This will tick me off to no end if I catch you using it in this way. Trust me, we can tell when a serious problem is going on or if you're abusing it. But this kitteh knows you guys are a smart bunch and I'm pretty positive you guys got keen eye for danger.

9.5. Murder, You Say?
Murder. It’s a serious topic. BUT! Believe it or not, not every death threat is serious. On occasion we all feel the need to jokingly say “I’m going to kill you now!” and it’s not always reportable.
Here are a few examples of what is acceptable, and what is reportable:
“I shall keel you with mah [insert random object]”—not reportable, obvious sarcasm.
“You guys suck and should all die”—reportable, even if they claim they didn’t mean it, this is still rude and offensive.
“You are dead to me D8 *cry and sob*!”—not reportable.
An excellent way to differentiate between the two is to look at SASS
Looking at those four things should make telling the two apart very easy.
