Thread: pokemon name origins!

Stunfisk.

Created from the static electricity present in Arceus' skin. It caused derpiness which lead Arceus to create the Pokemon world and the only way to get rid of it was to counter it with a ground type essence. So Arceus held the plate of earth (or whatever) and then came out Stunfisk out of its skin. Due to the massive population it was abandoned deep in Unova's soil and was treated as traps hence why they electrify anything stepping on it with derp electricity.

Damn....thats better than my Stunfisk origin.

Anyways....

Magcargo: A snail the was fried alive. However, the heat on the pan was up way too high, and the snail turned into lava. It then rolled around in the pan, getting burnt pieces of food over its back that people mistake for rock.

Scrafty:
It is based off a dude who loves arts and crafts.

Chikorita:

After a long night of drinking, one man was asked if he could make-out with anyone in the bar, who would it be? He replied with, "*garbblegarbble* A chick *hiccup* or Rita *garbblegarbble*" He was promptly whacked upside the head, because his date for the night was a chick named Rita. She was not amused. After that mishap the man came across a little green dinosaur (for realz or in his drunken stupor, you decide!) and, not knowing what to call it, went with what he had said earlier, Chikorita.

OK, here's one for Bulbasaur:

It was your average frog(asaur) until the day it married a flower. Their kid had a flower Bulb on its back. Hence, Bulbasaur.
