Because Mareep was one of the first Johto pokemon that I caught in my Gold game during my childhood, and it was the very first of my Johto pokemon to evolve into its final stage in that game. I also liked Ampharos's sprite design in the Gold version, and ever since, my obsession towards Ampharos began to stuck on to me like glue.

Good question. I think that "backstory" would be a good choice, since it would probably instigate some sort of explanation to his peculiar "mysteries." But if I were to answer purely on my shallow fantasies, I'd go with "meido" (maid :P).

And if you mean a permanent catchphrase, I wouldn't change it all all. except for maybe trollin' since that's what he does all the time

I think I will have to go with the Trix bunny. I'd always get frustrated whenever the kids were mean to him and wouldn't share their cereal. :< Conversely, Lucky annoyed me whenever he'd run away.
