and latios can easily switch out without the fear of pursuit..

Same with ferrothorn..

With team preview, no good player is just going to throw out their Latios counter when they see that their opponent has a mMagnezone.

And with team previev nobody is gonna risk latios as long as ttar isnt koed..

EDIT:i must add that people at smogon are pushing for a permenant weather inducing ability band..
If it does happen then ttar will get banned till its other ability is released..

That'd be illogical, only Drizzle should be banned at this point, along with Garchomp.

Quite a few have nominated thundurus as well..

I'd personally push for an optional Weather Clause. This generation, weather has proven to be a MASSIVE game-changer, more so than ever before. I don't think it's illogical for a completely optional clause banning weather in some battles.

So T-tar, Hippopotas and Hippowdon would be banned, then, Sharking?

By the Weather Clause, yes, until they have their DW abilities.

Also, I'd like to be absolutely sure I'm getting my point across and emphasize the word "optional".

Well, unless there is a "clear skies" tier, the players can just agree not to use autoweather.

I don't think that an official "weather clause" is necessary. As Angad suggested, players can decide amongst themselves to play by special rules if they feel like doing so. If auto-weather is determined to be broken or otherwise highly undesirable in the standard metagame, however, it should be banned from play altogether.

Ferrothorn and Rain is a pretty annoying combination, though.

Xatu stops it cold. It is slow and resists power whip. It doesnt let it set up, is a great switch in since you may get some spikes, and in only 3ko's. It also has added utility in stopping BP chains to an extent with featherdance, and a 4x fighting resist making a great switch in to conkelldurr, who it does ~70% to with psychic. Also, it stops breloom cold. It cant even spore.
