You don't really need a specific slot for an Explosion sponge. While it is relatively common, all you really need is a Steel type (offensive Scizor and Heatran do not count, they'll die to some Explosions) or something with Protect if you have good prediction. Or yeah, you can run a ghost type if you want, but only if it serves some other useful purpose for your team; Explosion immunity comes second.

Explosion is very common for leads, so you might consider having a Ghost-type lead, but only if it serves another purpose, as stated above.
I got my claims down on Quagsire, Miror B, Roar and Sand Stream.

Is there a thread for BAD warstories? That way, people can see other's mistakes and not make them.

Just look through the warstories' comments and see which one are critisized.
If we are having a battle and I disconnect, it is 100% unintentional; my power goes off often and each time my modem resets.

Gone until Aug, 10 or something for a trip w/out net access. C u after that. If I suddenly dissapear after that you can bet I got bad grades on my IGCSE's, since results are coming out the week afterwards.

You don't necessarily need your Ghost to be the lead, as that will deter them from using explosion and encourage them to save their lead for later in the battle. The most effective thing to do is predict the explosion and switch to your Ghost. This obviously isn't fool proof, but it is what it is.

The reason I suggest this is because most ghosts are not great leads for standard teams. Gengar can do alright with certain sets, but he has to watch out for Azelf/Aero/Crobat type leads. Spiritomb has some utility as an anti lead, and Bannette / Dusknoir can work in trick room, but overall there are usually better lead options if you just need Stealth Rock and the ability to take on other leads.

The best non trick room ghost type lead is froslass, and that isn't very good in OU (while in UU it was too good). However, running protect on a lead like sawmpert allows you to protect when they explode, and hope you get it right.

Frosslass definitely has no niche while it is in BL (If only hail teams were good...), I have tried it :(

I'm training a Venusaur in HG, with these moves:
    -Sludge Bomb
    -Sleep Powder
-Power Whip (it was hatched from an egg created by the Bulbasaur I got from Oak and a Tangrowth I traded from Platinum)
    -Leech Seed

I'm not sure if I should ditch Leech Seed for Earthquake. What does anyone think I should do?

You want a mixed attacker set, yes? Providing nature would be helpful. While Leech Seed is good for a sweeper because it can force switches and possibly alleviate Life Orb damage, EQ is nice for coverage.

But honestly, Venusaur is so versatile you can do whatever you want with it. That's why it's the most popular Pokemon in UU. Replacing any one of those moves makes a completely different set, most of which are listed in its analysis, so you can make whatever changes suits your team.

I told you my thoughts on it, but I will post them anyways. It depends on if you want it offensive or defenseive. I personally love Leech Seed, but it looks like it needs EQ more.

Venusaur's nature is Rash (I know it should've been Mild). Thanks for the tips, though.
