I'm currently trying to design a good three-man team for Gen V specifically. And is also not utilizing any legendaries. For 1v1 battles.

I want my team leader to be Zoroark, and I have decided on Braviary for direct support of the team leader. But I am terribly lost trying to decide a third member. Any advice?

    Pokemon: Flareon
    Ability: Guts

What exactly can be done to make this work? Nothing is going to happen unless Flareon is afflicted with a Status Ailment. From what I understand, Flareon can't be afflicted with burn, because it's a Fire type. Paralysis is too much of a hairy trigger and would hinder at a flip of a coin. Sleep and Frozen completely disable the ability to fight, so really, only Poison can cause Flareon to be able to make use of it's Guts ability.

To cause Poison to self, you would need to utilize a Toxic Orb, which is a Badly Poisoned status, which is generally far too efficient.

How exactly can this be turned into an advantage for Flareon?

    Facade? Let's see...

Facade's power is at 140 because of the poison. Coupled with the Guts, that's.....something above 200. And with his EPIC Attack, that's gotta be a major dent in the opponent, even against Rock and Steel-Types.

So would this be using team preview? Because I don't think Illusion works like that.

It needed quick feet, and flare blitz. The best you could do would be Flame Charge, Facade, Fire Fang (Which isn't enough to be considered a threat), then a choice between Bite, Dig, HP Grass or Electric. GameFreak has never given Flareon what it deserves: A good movepool.

Depends, what do you want each to do for you?

I've never really figured out how Illusion can be used for anything. I've also never had an opponent found while trying Random Battle. New question, I keep seeing people put "HP //element//" after their Pokemon name, what is that supposed to mean?

They're probably referring to the type of the Pokemon's Hidden Power. When a Pokemon uses the move Hidden Power, the type is determined by the Pokemon's IVs.

    Unhappy D&P: Ralts

I successfully bred (first try, pure luck) a modest Ralts with Trace. I also bought a couple irons to promote Sp.Atk growth. However, I am lost as to what to train Sp.Atk on.

Also looking to build some Sp.Def or Def AND speed.

I'm going to train it to Gardevoir (since I have a shiny Gallade). And remember, this is Diamond I'm on.

So, suggestions on how you would do stuff?

When you want to find potential EV spreads for a Pokemon, you should probably take a look at Smogon's analysis pages. Here's a link to to the one for Gardevoir:

If it's competitive, then, you either have to get flash fire, or a different nature, so you wouldn't be able to use the Chandelure that you have now.

Is Stealth Rock as big in this Gen as it was last Gen? "Cause if it is, then I have reason to worry about bringing Flareon in.

Although the fifth generation's additions of Magic Bounce and priority Taunt help prevent it, Stealth Rock is still the best move in the game and it is common amongst most teams.

To add onto what Hux says, I find it more common among SandStorm and Stall teams.
