Okay, Sand Veil increases evasion by 20% during a Sandstorm.
Brightpowder increases evasion by 10%.
First of all, is a Pokemon's evasion the same thing as the foe's move's accuracy, or am I misunderstanding something? I'm a little confused.
Now, if Garchomp is holding Brightpowder during a Sandstorm, will a foe's move that normally has 100% accuracy only have 70% accuracy?
I recall hearing that its evasion would only increase by 28% because 100% - 20% = 80%, and 10% of 80 is 8, and 20 + 8 = 28. Thus the move would have 72% accuracy.
And what if a foe's move only has 70% accuracy? Will it be lowered to 40%, or 45%?
I don't think I understand exactly exactly how this mechanic works, so any explanation would be appriciated.
