AnotherPokemonPlayer; Yeah, I think you have it right. You should still be able to do it from level 50, but only if those 2 Pokemon have 0 EVs when you started. For example, if you used an Exp. Share or had to battle wild Pokemon to get them up to that level, then those Pokemon would already have some EVs that you would have to reset. You would do that using certain berries, I think. Personally, I don't think it's a very good idea to actually go on a
journey while EV training, it would take a really long time and you would need to be especially patient. It's significantly easier to do it during post game.
To make EV training easier, you could have the Pokemon hold a Macho Brace or one of the Power items, which increase the number of EVs you get when you defeat one Pokemon. Pokerus also increases EVs, too. And there are certain Pokemon who give more than 1 EV even under normal circumstances when you defeat them.
