Thread: Assigned Pokemon Tournament

@Data-Roxas; Hurracanes off Swanna shouldn't be hitting particularly hard since it has a poor offensive stats. Even despite the 120 base power it really just balances out the mediocre offensive stats. In fact, since rain gives a 50% boost, even surf would hit harder. Plus it has under 100 base speed and bad defenses which means that depending on your opponents team they should be able to deter easy switch ins from it.

Regardless, the endgame from my battle with GotPika (which I won{gg, GotPika, btw}) was pretty much spamming Hurricane, and, while I did end up losing Swanna, it was only because I got cocky/freaked out and used surf on his Rotom-W, instead of more Hurricane spamming.

Surf hits Rotom-W harder than Huriccane in rain.

At that point, rain dance had ended (MB, forgot to mention that), and I decided not to push my luck with Hurricane any further. TBH, that was one of my four major slops that match. The first being my Roserade only having three moves, then my Slowbro didn't have an item, and finally, my Seismitoad was CB'd instead of Expert Belted. (I imported the team from Showdown after making it, utilizing some of their EV spread suggestions)

I think we just need @Synthesis; and @thepokemaster; to battle, along with @Avarus Cantus; and @Lord Clowncrete;. Amirite? No hurry, as long as those battles happen before 11/25/2012 at 8:00 pm (Eastern Time).

I also wanna make round 2 without team preview cause it seems fun. Any opinions?

The battles for the most part seem to be mostly fair aside from a few minor derps I made, which makes me smile inside. Then again, I didn't read all the logs yet....

Time zones are a huge problem..

I have no issue with turning off team preview.

To be honest I think with tournaments here on Bulbagarden, after this one we need to all chat about how we will move forward since we are having problems with tome zones and activity. In my opinion, ladder races may be a good alternative that everybody can partake in (and get a bit of Bulba on the ladder).

That would be an interesting idea for a tournament.

Well it wouldn't clash with time zones and we can set funny restrictions to make it more interesting. I won't post anymore about it on this tournament thread though :p

Having a ladder itslef would be good, but I think it has to scripted yet. That being said, last I checked, Chomp isn't allowed in OU on our server. Nor were Salac berries.

Yeah but because of timezones it would mostly just be playing against the same people. Most probably would be easier to use an existing one.

hey, so who're we waiting on still?

Synthesis and I still have to do our battle, the timezones really are not our friend here ahah. It should be able to be done today, though.

If @Lord Clowncrete; and @Avarus Cantus; don't battle within the next 5 hours, I'm going to extend the round to 11/26/2012 at 6:00 pm Eastern Time. At that point I may just flip a coin or something. I don't know. What do I even do if people fail to battle?
