    Smile Two Teams

I have two teams I'm training, Which one is better? Maybe I should combine the two with the best from each team?

This is team one, which I mostly use in-game. It also works pretty well in competitive battling. (This team beat the Elite Four without any fainting).
NOTE: many of these pokémon still have remnant HM moves from in-game use, so maybe you can help me decide what move to use instead!
    Sweeper/Lead

    Krookodile
    Nature:Jolly
    Ability:Moxie
    Item:BlackGlasses
    Moves:
    • Crunch
    • Dig
    • Embargo
    • Earthquake

I use Krookodile for most situations, it can wipe out most pokémon (without resistances) with Crunch or Earthquake. Notable is it's strength versus Steel, Poison, Ghost and Psychic. I usually use it in double battles paired with Serperior or Swanna to freely use Earthquake and hit both opposing team members. When paired with Swanna, if the need ever arises I can have it use Dig to get it out of the way and have Swanna use Surf. Threats are: Water (covered by Serperior), Fighting (covered by Musharna), Grass (covered by Swanna or Chandelure), and Bug (covered by Swanna or Chandelure). In the case of water, if it's paired with Serperior or Swanna Crunch or Earthquake can usually defeat them, if not, Swanna or Serperior will get them. Its high speed usually lets it attack first.
    Fast and Furious

    Serperior
    Nature:Mild
    Ability: Overgrow
    Item: Miracle Seed
    Moves:
    • Giga Drain
    • Cut (I need a replacement move for this move! Anyone have any ideas?)
    • Frenzy Plant
    • Leaf Blade

Serperior is the fastest on this team. However, I've found it's not extremely useful against pokémon without weakness to it, so I use it mostly as a cover for Swanna and Krookodile. Its speed helps it attack first and get rid of any pokémon capable of 2x or 4x damage to Swanna or Krookodile, and in return they protect it from Fire, Bug and Poison-types. Threats are: Fire (covered by Krookodile and Swanna), Flying (covered by Sawk, if it can be quick enough), Ice (covered by Sawk or Chandelure) and Poison (covered by Krookodile or Musharna).
    Sweeper

    Sawk
    Nature:Mild
    Ability:Inner Focus
    Item:Quick Claw
    Moves:
    • Strength (this one could be switched, but I'm not sure it needs to be because it's pretty powerful and not susceptible to many resistances)
    • Stone Edge
    • Close Combat
    • Brick Break

Sawk has high attack, and that's about it. He comes in there and whoops some heiny, but he doesn't last very long. As such, I use him only for defeating Steel, Ice, Rock, and Dark types (He works best against those such as Tyranitar, Krookodile, and Weavile). I also sometimes need him for dispatching Flying-types, with the aid of his quick claw he can hit flying types with Stone Edge before they hit him. The only threat is Psychic (Not including Flying), which is covered by Krookodile.
    Tank or Wall

    Musharna
    Nature:Serious
    Ability:Forewarn
    Item:TwistedSpoon
    Moves:
    • Dream Eater
    • Psychic
    • Nightmare
    • Yawn

I always start off using Yawn with this one (I use Yawn instead of Hypnosis because Yawn always hits, and also partly because I can get away with the extra turn where I can be hit because of Musharna's high HP), and follow up with Psychic, and then, once it goes to sleep, I give them nightmares, and then for the duration of their sleep, I use Dream Eater. Although, often times one use of Psychic is enough for a OHKO or 2HKO, so I don't always need to attack it in its sleep. Threats are: Bug (covered by Swanna or Chandelure) and Dark (covered by Sawk).
    Speedy Sweeper

    Swanna
    Nature:Bold
    Ability:Keen Eye
    Item:Sharp Beak
    Moves:
    • Fly
    • Surf
    • Hurricane
    • Roost

Swanna's high speed and attack is very helpful. It can be a sweeper or a supporter, or both. When paired with Krookodile in a double battle, it's one heck of a match up. If I use Dig and Fly at the same time, the opponent will have no target to hit for one turn (however, this is a very bad idea if the opponents know Magnitude, Earthquake, or Sky Uppercut). Another good partner is Serperior, as Swanna can cover for Serperior's weakness to Bug type and Fire type. Hurricane and Fly can defeat many pokémon without resistances to them. Threats are: Electric (the worst, as it does 4x the damage. It is covered by Krookodile. However, this strategy hits a snag if the Electric-type opponent's ability is levitate or if it holds an air balloon.), Rock (Covered by itself, its high speed stat usually let's it hit a Rock-type foe first, or Serperior) and Ice (covered by Sawk or Chandelure).
    Tank

    Chandelure
    Nature:Bold
    Ability:Flash Fire
    Item:Charcoal
    Moves:
    • Inferno
    • Will-O-Wisp
    • Flame Burst
    • Hex

Chandelure can take the hits and also dish it back out. The basic strategy here is to use Will-O-Wisp or Inferno to burn (although against pokémon with a weakness to fire, Inferno is usually a OHKO), and then use Hex to do extra damage. It has High Sp. Atk, Defense and Sp. Def, so this strategy holds up well. Threats are: Dark (covered by Sawk), Water (covered by Serperior), Ghost (covered by itself or by Krookodile), Ground (covered by Swanna or Serperior) and Rock (Covered by Serperior,Sawk or Krookodile).

One thing that needs help is my lack of adequate offense against Flying-types; my current strategy relies on the working of a quick claw...

Here is Team two, which I am building more for competitive battles. This one still has some kinks to be worked out. If anyone knows how to help, I'd appreciate it!

    Sweeper

    Krookodile
    Nature:Jolly
    Ability:Moxie
    Item:BlackGlasses
    Moves:
    • Crunch
    • Dig
    • Embargo
    • Earthquake

No Notes. This is the same Krookodile as above.
    Speedy Sweeper

    Swanna
    Nature:Bold
    Ability:Keen Eye
    Item:Sharp Beak
    Moves:
    • Fly
    • Surf
    • Hurricane
    • Roost

No Notes. This is the same Swanna as above.
    Sweeper

    Hydreigon
    Nature:Adamant
    Ability:Levitate
    Item:Dragon Fang
    Moves:
    • Crunch
    • Hyper Voice
    • Dragon Pulse
    • Dragon Rush

Great at killing Psychic types. Also good against Dragons, its speed is more often than not higher than other Dragon types, and Dragon Rush/Pulse is usually a OHKO.
    Tank

    Metagross
    Nature:Relaxed
    Ability:Clear Body
    Item:Rocky Helmet
    Moves:
    • Hyper Beam
    • Grass Knot
    • Meteor Mash
    • Zen Headbutt

Metagross gives me many strengths, although it only gets STAB from one. In case of Ice or Rock, I use Meteor Mash; in case of Water, Ground or Rock (mostly for Water), I use Grass Knot (especially if the opponent is heavy), and in case of Fighting, or Poison (I especially use it against poison, as Poison has no effect on Steel), I use Zen Headbutt. I use Hyper Beam in a pinch. Notable is its double resistance to Psychic type.
    Sweeper

    Tyranitar
    Nature:Naughty
    Ability:Sand Stream
    Item:Quick Claw
    Moves:
    • Focus Blast
    • Stone Edge
    • Crunch
    • Earthquake

I pair Tyranitar with Dragonite so it can use Earthquake without causing harm to its ally. He also makes up for Dragonite's 4x Ice weakness with Focus Blast and Stone Edge. Also, because it knows Focus Blast, it can be good against other Dark types. Also helpful is his Sand Stream, which helps dispatch opponents with a focus sash/band. If a normally OHKO is affected by it, the sandstorm will make it faint.
    Lead/Sweeper

    Dragonite
    Nature:Timid
    Ability:Inner Focus
    Item:Expert Belt
    Moves:
    • Dragon Rush
    • Flamethrower
    • Dragon Tail
    • Aqua Tail

Dragonite has moves to be good against several types, Flamethrower helps with Ice, Grass, and Steel, Aqua Tail helps with Fire, Ground and Rock. Dragon Rush is a good all-around attack, and is also helpful with other Dragons. To make up for its 4x Ice weakness, I pair it with Tyranitar (because Flamethrower often misses the mark by the opponent sneaking in an Ice-Beam in there before I attack).

Also, to help against Dragonite's 4x Ice weakness, I've thought of replacing Hydreigon or Krookodile with Rotom in Heat form:

    Rotom
    Nature:Gentle
Ability:Levitate (Gives immunity to its biggest threat)
Item:Charcoal / Magnet (which would be best? I'm thinking Charcoal to maximize its purpose)
    Moves:
    • Substitute (possibly switch this with a move that inflicts status problems)
    • Electro Ball
    • Hex
    • Overheat

My favorite battle type is Double, so if possible give me some help with that battle style! I appreciate any critique/help though!
(Really sorry I don't have any EVs posted yet... )

What is the point of Dig and Earthquake on Krookodile? Personally I wouldn't have Krookodile on team 2 in what seems like a Lead position. You also lack EVs and Natures on the Pokemon so not much help can be done right now

Okay, note taken, I will give you natures! My team two needs the most help, I could use something to replace Krookodile. Also, I'm new to EVs (and competitive battling!) so I might need some help getting those!

Oh, sorry about that. This isn't a simple to do as I thought! I'll get right to fixing it. I feel like such a noob!

If you want to find EVs and movesets for these Pokemon, try looking at Smogon. They have quite a few resources there as well as a guide for newer players.

Now that you've added natures, I'd just remove the first team and put it in the InGame Rate thread. Then you should visit Smogon for sets for the Pokemon. This team may be good if used correctly.

I'll lock this thread for now. Once you've added EVs and proper natures, feel free to ask myself or one of the other Battle Center moderators to reopen your thread.
