The competition with salamence as second best scarfer behind Genesect is interesting. Mence can actually sweep whilst chomp can avoid speed ties.

They both have caused the Physically Defensive Steel Usage to go up, though.

Yeah, now I don't think you can run a successful team without: Jirachi, Genesect (plus another steel), Scizor (plus another steel), Heatran or something extremely bulky like Cresselia.

It might be part of the reason that Genesect jumped to #1.

I think he will drop eventually because he isn't an effective counter; he can just check. against mass dragon he is effectively useless.

That is, if it doesn't end up banned first. On the OU suspect ladder, Genesect's usage was over 50%! And they almost solely use what it takes to win there, so... yeah. The bug IS pretty overcentralizing, anyway.

Garchomp is kinda pretty.

Hopefully players will start to use stall effectively again.

You're kidding, right? Right?

The lack of stall is the reason the game is so centralized around pokemon such as Genesect. Genesect is 100% useless against full stall.

Genesect can't do anything to Volcarona and Heatran, though.

They can't counter it, however, because they can't switch in as a result of the GeneDugtrio combo. Terrakion is really the only true offensive counter.

Eh, I personally think the duo is a little hyped up, Dugtrio is pretty hard to get in.

Whether it is good or not doesn't come in to it. The mere fact that the duo is common makes Heatran and Volcarona counters that you can't reliably switch in to Genesect making them more checks than anything. Terrakion is slightly different provided you have hazards up.
