I am overjoyed on the other hand. That snow cloak ban is icing.

I'm going to have to come up with yet another plan to reinvent Welcome to Eden to adapt it to the current metagame.
Was the Snow Cloak ban necessary, though? Has Snow Cloak ever been broken?
The point of it is that it is in a similar vain to Bright powder. It is a bad option to use but it causes a massive variation in battle results that the opponent has no control over.
Like Moody, it isn't a case of how broken it is.
I understand that is really for carpetbanning it, but I still have my hesitance on banning Snow Cloak in regards to practical use.
Froslass was a reasonable abuser of it.
So you have to use chomp with hidden ability?
Yes, but it really is underwhelming.
Well I'd still consider it an a tier threat, especially when a scarf set. The main problem I think it has now is that it is more predictable without its sand set and also it has more competition for a spot.
GChomp is seriously Overrated. (For a Uber anyway)
Glad they came to their senses and put him down to OU.
He wasn't over rated with Sand Veil, he was overpowered. He is only in OU because it got taken away.
A Pokemon with 130 Attack and 102 Speed, with considerably great bulk, two good offensive STAB types, access to Swords Dance, as well as an ability that makes 1/5 moves against it miss as long as it's in sand? Personally, I think that sounds over-powered, not over-rated. Sand Veil getting banned brings it down a whole peg, because that 1/5 chance for a move to miss could, and would repeatedly, keep Garchomp alive when you finally get a chance to bring it down. It's not just a matter of Smogon "coming to their senses", it was a matter of Garchomp having just too much going for it.
Sand Veil didn't make him consistantly better, it just gave him the opportunity to 6-0 teams a certain amount of the time with nothing the opponent could do about it. That isn't overpowered, it just breaks the evasion clause. You can check on Smogon for the reasoning.
I'm actually surprised at how little I'm seeing him now.
I'm pretty happy for both the return of Garchomp and the ban on Sand Veil. At least this time, we won't see everyone and their mother spamming that luck-dependant Sub-SD set.
If I were to use Garchomp (and I probably will), I think I'd use the Choice Scarf set. You know, make full use of that trollish 102 Speed.
