    Akari City

Akari City (Menou City)--Take Route 51 eastward, pass through Mt. Taka's (real world counterpart: Mt. Fuji) many passages and continue northward on Route 52 to reach here.

This is one of the major cities of Minami, but its most famous attraction (besides challenging Gym Leader Melanie for the Night Badge) is the PokeTheater, which is a combination of PokeStar Studios and the Musical, only full plays are produced here instead of dressing up in elaborate costumes and doing a song and dance routine.

There are other PokeTheaters in the region, but this one is the largest and the best, and where many aspiring actors and actresses begin their quest for fame

    Tentative episode list

Keep in mind this is very tentative, and may change once the story begins.

"A journey of his own! Sailing to the Minami region!

    "Welcome to Shinjuna Town!"

"Panic on Brightstar Path! The lost Eevee"

"My name is Wendy! The young breeder of Brightstar Town!"

"Professor Willow's quiet wisdom! The journey begins!"

    Yushoku City

Return to Mt. Taka from Route 52, pass through Mt. Taka again, and take Route 53 eastward to arrive here.

This town is said to be the place where Meloetta sealed Giratina in ancient times, and a statue of Meloetta in the town square commemorates her victory. In addition, a music festival is held every spring on the anniversary of the sealing, and musical groups of all types and skill levels gather for a week filled with concerts, storytelling, exotic instrument demonstrations, games, and more.

Trainers can challenge Gym Leader Ryu for the Quest Badge here.

    Kiroto Town

Follow Route 54 eastward, then turn north and follow Route 55 to get here.

Nestled in a lush valley nearby the coast (taking Route 56 northward from the city will lead you back to Shinjuna Town), Kiroto is considered "Minami's orchard" due to the massive Berry groves prevalent in the area. Plenty of Berries to go around means a large variety of Pokemon live here, especially in Minami's Safari Zone.

Unlike Safari Zones in other regions, Minami's Safari Zone offers a "look but don't catch" tour if you're not in the mood to catch any Pokemon, but still want to see rare Pokemon up close. These scenic tours are quite popular, and it is advised you arrive early for the best chance to reserve a spot and have the best chances of seeing rare Pokemon out.

In addition to the Safari Zone, many renowned juice makers have their facilities by their fields and groves, and many offer tours of the grounds and opportunities to pick your own Berries and sample the juices on offer.

Trainers can earn their fourth badge here by challenging Gym Leader Terrell for the Spark Badge

    Yakuta City

If you take Route 57 eastward, you will arrive at the base of the northern mountains of Minami, where this city lies.

Like Ecruteak in Johto, this city is very respectful in its ancient traditions, the most famous of these being the tea ceremony. When local Gym Leader Yume is not giving out Dream Badges to aspiring trainers, she is hosting tea ceremonies for visitors from around the Pokeworld.

Unlike the tea ceremony in our world, the tea ceremony in the Pokeworld has a few slight differences in the ritual. For example, if a guest cannot have sake (such as a child, Kimono Girl, or Sage) or does not prefer to have sake, the host will offer them a sparkling Berry drink known as awada. Often touted as a healthier alternative to soda, awada usually comes in citrus flavors, and every flavor has a distinct meaning in the ceremony--Yume will usually offer her guests Oran flavored awada for good luck.

A PokeTheater specializing in ancient Gekijou plays is also present here, but it becomes the site of one of Brock's more clever distractions--performing his and Wendy's special audition song "My Bright Silver Star" alone so Wendy and the cast of a play can escape when Team Elegy storms the theater in the middle of the show!

    The PokeTheater

One of Minami's most famous attractions is the PokeTheater--a place where Pokemon and humans can put on plays together. This is far from dressing Pokemon up in costumes and watching them dance--the Pokemon have their own roles to play in the elaborate productions, even if they often don't have lines.

Plays aren't the only thing performed in the PokeTheater--concerts and variety shows are often performed as well. But in order to even perform onstage, every aspiring actor has to audition.

Auditions aren't necessarily just reading lines, singing songs, and maybe dancing--a prospective performer can do anything that shows off their talents. But with thousands of prospective actors auditioning every year, it is important to stand out--spurring some prospects to get creative with their act in hopes of landing a role

If an actor on the PokeTheater circuit does well in a performance, they will receive a rose button from the theater's impresario (or impresaria) Red roses symbolize a strong overall performance, white roses symbolize an actor's skill in their craft, and pink roses symbolize an actor's appeal and interaction with the audience. An actor or actress with at least five roses (of any color) earns the right to sing the League anthem before the Minami League begins

    About "My Bright Silver Star"

One of Wendy's better attempts at songwriting, Brock thought it sounded nice, and wrote a playful Celtic-esque pop melody to go with it, which quickly evolved into a rhythmic, flamboyant number with bagpipes, rapidfire lyrics, and spacey synths. The over the top-ness doesn't stop with the music--Brock and Wendy also wear outlandish sparkling costumes (he a white shirt and sparkling red suit, and she a royal blue and silver strapless dress that resembles a tutu) and play cosmic shaped tambourines when performing the song (his is shaped like a red crescent moon, and hers is shaped like a royal blue star, to match their costumes)

The tambourines almost didn't make it into the routine, but after finding them on sale at the local party supply store (and Happini was playing one while singing the song itself), Brock thought it was cute, and so they were kept.

Even when they are not auditioning, they are more than happy to perform the routine when asked. It can also be done solo (as Brock had to do when Team Elegy crashed a show in Yakuta City and he realized he left the Paradaisu suit at home!) if needed.

The lyrics(Brock's solo lines are in red, Wendy's solo lines in blue, and lines where both sing are fuchsia):

High in the sky is a secret so sweet
and a star that is glistening for a moment

Twinkling in his eyes is a fleeting small memory
that his heart and mine, finally intertwined...

This thing called love doesn't make any sense
I feel like I am floating up in the blue sky

His love surprised me, as we traveled through the sky
And my heart dreams of him, every night and day...

I always was alone, now my heart's no longer empty
Just us two, together, it has changed my life!

When I'm down, you appear, and you give me wings that soar and
I can fly--when darkness comes, it's your embrace I run to!

Three, two, one, zero! Like a shining Thunderbolt
You came into my life, and you gave my heart new hope

We two travel here and there, riding on the solar wind
You are here, as my little silver star!

Close your eyes and count to three, you will teleport to me,
And the love in your heart will keep flowing strong and free!

I've been waiting for this day, say 'I love you'-no delay!
You'll be here for me, my bright silver star!
Though you're millions of years away from me!

    Meet Ardea

The Gym Leader of Honoru City, Ardea (Homura in Japanese) is also renowned for her archery skill as well, training beginners (and those that need a refresher course in the bow) and advanced students alike. When she is not giving Ember Badges to prospective trainers, she is exploring the forests around the city with her faithful Fennekin, Kitsune. Not surprisingly, she knows a lot about the nearby Tower of Runes, so she gives Brock some tips in return for his telling her a thrilling tale starring an archer (and using his own bow for effect.)

    Known Pokemon:

Charmander lv. 12 (male, named Blaze)
Torchic lv. 12 (female, named Phoenix)
Fennekin lv. 14 (female, named Kitsune)

    The Song of the Gems

The Song of the Gems is a traditional song sung by Meloetta to gauge a person's worthiness of receiving spellsong. If the person sings along with the mysterious language (usually just the chorus, but some adventurers sang the verses), that signals Meloetta that the person's heart is pure and sincere.

The verses, when translated, describe the gems and their powers:

Hear, oh hear, ye pair of wanderers, (this line changes depending on how many people come)
If you seek the jewels that hold my spells...

You will face danger and trials,
But if you are strong, you will prevail...

And evil seeks to destroy my song,
So that the world is torn apart...

But you have power to save the world,
By finding my jewels and singing their songs...

The ruby burns red with fire,
Destroying those who would do evil...

The onyx holds the dark of the night,
Lit only by the moon and the stars...

The opal shines in many colors
The many colors of a dragon's scale...

The topaz glows with rolling thunder
But I will guide you through the storm...

    The garnet holds infinite wisdom
Knowledge no mortal will ever know...

The diamond is as strong as steel,
It will not bend, nor will it break

The sapphire shines a frosty blue,
Its power won't harm a heart that's true...

And last, the emerald, green as the earth
Will prove a pure heart's true worth!

When the songs of these jewels come together,
The evil ones will be banished forever!
