Would anyone say that Garageband is suitable for this?

Yes. It is. I use Garage Band for a lot of songs I'm creating for my mixtape. I think its a great software, but if you have access to Windows, I recommend FL Studio. It's good for someone with experience.

Anyone here know how I can make a new pattern in FL Studio WITHOUT using the same instruments and not change the previous pattern?

I'm assuming that you mean that you want the channels to be different on each pattern. You can't. You just have to ignore the channels that you're not using. It's not limiting at all, it just gets a little cluttered if you have more than twenty or so instruments (depending on the size of your screen).

Thanks man. I can relax and (try to) make a song (that will not make people cringe)

Regarding the guitar, here is a couple of tips I had to learn the hard way.

Learn the blues scale. Immediately. The sooner the better so it can get down in your brain.

Set a goal to learn a new song every week.

And don't forget to freestyle sometimes.

    Also good idea PuppetMaster.

    ALSO regarding voice.

I've been critiquing enough to know that almost everybody needs voice strengthening exercises.

    Take an instrument.

    Play a note.

Sing to the note in a full and clear voice.

Do that a lot and switch notes occasionally.

Don't grease your strings. That's gross.

Just wipe your strings off with any kind of rag whenever you get sweaty while playing, and keep your guitar in its case. I've had my guitar for about 6 years now, and it's worked for me.

You can spend some extra money on coated strings if you want, but I honestly never noticed a difference between them and regular strings in terms of how long they last.

Try buying a new set? Or perhaps get some rosin. Orchestras use that for their strings; it makes it smoother and more crisp.

Rosin is what bowed string instruments use so their bow will grip the strings. DO NOT USE ROSIN. It will fuck up your strings. I used to play my guitar with a bow because I thought it was cool that Jimmy Page did it, and it fucks up your strings. Don't do it.

Seriously, just don't do anything to your strings. Wipe them off if they get sweaty. I'm not making this stuff up.

    I was just guessing...

Agreeably it's very easy to just get a cloth or something and wipe the strings similar to the way the body is cleaned. But if your strings don't sound as bright or crisp as they did before, I do think the best option is to buy a new set and restring your guitar.

Agreed. Replacing the strings can greatly improve your guitar's sound.

Experiment with different size strings too. Thin strings, size 0.09 and below, have a very sharp sound, while strings size 0.11 and above have a warmer sound but are a little harder to play. If you have a floating bridge you might want to just keep the same size unless you know how to adjust the spring tension.
