When the Ilumise fled, its small fairy-like wings beating furiously, it left behind another small piece of candy. That was really starting to be weird, wasn't like I was hungry or something. I signaled for Infernape to go and pick up the item and return it to me. Once she gave me the item we moved onto the next cavern.

In what seemed to be the theme of this place, this next cavern opened up to reveal a small pool of water and another north exit. IN the center of the water floated the small blue form of Horsea. Horsea was something I had been looking to catch for awhile, but I couldn't catch it today because I hadn't brought along any empty balls.

Infernape was out, but there was no way I was going to let her fight. Luckily, I had a Pokemon that could readily handle Water types. I reached for the one Pokemon I hadn't used as of yet. With a flash the ball opened to reveal the frog-like creature known as Toxicroak. She was mostly purple with red on hands, feet, and her large mouth pouch. "Toxicroak, let's start this battle off with Fake Out attack followed by Thunder Punch."

No sooner had the commands left my mouth when she charged forwards, clawed hands upraised.

Before Toxicroak's Fake Out could hit a vibrant blue shield of energy appeared around Horsea. The Horsea knew Protect, which was surprising considering it was only a wild Pokemon, but no matter. Toxicroak rebounded from the shield to land directly in the water and was hit by a whirling ball blue energy. While Toxicroak had been repealed by the Protect Horsea had fired off a Dragon Pulse attack.

The water seemed to dampen the power of the move and Toxicroak wasn't badly injured. And because Toxicroak was in the water he could heal and the water wouldn't hinder his movement because he was a frog. After absorbing the blow, Toxicroak swiftly moved forward, his fist yellow with electricity. The Thunder Punch struck Horsea on its snout and sent the Pokemon reeling. I had not attention of backing down. "Toxicroak, use Drain Punch!"

The same fist glowed a white this time as Toxicroak swam forward.

Before the Drain Punch attack could hit Horsea released a sound that sounded somewhere between a roar and a squeak. A burst of golden light begain to shine from Horsea and a moment later that light smacked in Toxicroak, slowing it significantly in the water. Horsea and used one of its more powerful moves, Outrage. While it was not yet a dragon type, Outrage was still an upper tier attack. It must have been a last ditch effort by the Pokemon before it lost.

Powerful or not though, it didn't stop the Drain Punch from connecting with Horsea. The Pokemon squeled and dived underwater, not surfacing again. In its wake it had let multiple multi-colored gummy worms in its place. When Toxicroak had returned with the candy we moved onto the next challenge.

The next room we entered contained nothing but two exits: one to the west and another to the north. I didn't want to use the last of my Crystal Ball so I just randomly picked a direction to go. I headed west.

This cavern opened up to reveal a wide chamber with a single exit to the west. But in the center was a Shaymin, a legendary. Shamin was a small white Pokemon that resembled a hedgehog, but instead of spikes on its back this Pokemon had a tuff of fur that resembled grass. A single pink flower grew right behind its ear on the left side.

Since it was a Grass type Infernape was the obvious choice. But Shaymin could use Psychic. That left Snorlax. I pulled out his Pokeball and sent him into the foray. "Start things off with a Gunk Shot move."

The dark purple blobs of poison material struck the Legendary squarely in its flank, its fur being matted with the noxious substance. I was hoping for the attack to poison the Pokemon, but it hadn't seem to done so. But I could fix that. My concentration was lost for a moment when the hedgehog-like Pokemon wailed and fired an attack at Snorlax. At first I wasn't sure what it was until I saw a small distortion in the air and realized the Pokemon had fired an Air Slash at Snorlax. The attack heaped some impressive damage on the already tired Snorlax, but I had a plan.

"Snorlax, fire off Icy Wind and Toxic. Use the Toxic first then immediately launch the other attack."

Snorlax didn't reply, instead it punched the ground hard and roared. A stream of dark liquid sprang up from the ground and rushed towards his foe. The air also seemed to take on a noticeable chill until frost was beginning to form. This was followed by the howls of wind as it swirled around the chamber before it rushed towards Shaymin.

Shaymin leapt into the air, just dodging the noxious substance leeching through the ground. But its leap carried it directly into the path of Icy Wind, doing damage and causing small ice crystals to form on its legs, slightly hindering its movements.

"Good enough, 'Lax." I wanted to encourage the rapidly tiring Pokemon as much as possible. "Try a Toxic and Ice Punch combo this time around."

Instead of causing Toxic to move through the ground Snorlax coated its fist in the substance then froze that layer over with a clear coat of ice. Creating a block of ice that when shattered would rain the Toxic around, hopeful striking home. The lumbering steps of Snorlax increased in frequency as it charged the Shaymin.

Instead of dodging the combo move, Shaymin instead lowered its head and charged. At first I wondered what it was doing, then I noticed that its green fur straightened like spikes and took on a purplish tint to it. This tint slowly spread to the head until it formed a small concave shiel in front the powerful Pokemon. It was trying a Zen Headbutt to both counter my move and damage Snorlax.

Shaymin's head and Snorlax's fist smack together, slightly nudging Snorlax, pushing Shaymin away, and sending shards of toxic ice flying through the air. Although the ice did do some damage, the Toxic failed to connect. No matter, I had this won.

"Snorlax, finish this thing off with another Ice Punch!"

Snorlax shrugged away the fatigue it was feeling and rushed the dazed Shaymin once again.
