I'm not tied to us using our own CMS, though, and Tindeck is nice; I've used it before.

Tindeck may be nice, but personally I see it as a bit of a hassle for people to keep opening new windows to listen to the music pieces and then comment on them back here on the forum.
If we could somehow link the Tindeck music back here, that would be good too.
The word "quadragonal" is the only word with "dragon" in it where "dragon" is not a root word. That makes it awesome.
Not exactly a technical view, but I know that SoundCloud's player can show up on sites like Tumblr and Facebook. Any chance we could use that?
I got my claims down on Quagsire, Miror B, Roar and Sand Stream.
Winner of Burned Planet Mafia and Plants vs Zombies Mafia.
I believe we can do HTML-enabling on a forum-by-forum basis, and if that's the case, a lot more stuff can be embedded.

I can very easily put together a script to pull from my Filemaw API and work with that. This includes local listening and the like, and everything can just go through the system's curtain to Filemaw's optimized backend.
Edit:
I guess I could use this as an excuse to work on my HTML5 music visualizer again. :P
ok, I want an update right now. what's going on with this project?

Qombat is working on the CMS, but he hasn't provided any updates or anything about it, so we don't really know how that is going. Though the forum, could either be put up now, or after the CMS goes up, so the decision of the forum is up to the staff.
He gave up on it because we were taking too long to respond on stuff. At this point, we might be stuck with using Tindeck.

Well, he never asked us for anything (unless he did it via PM) and anything he did post, most people did respond to.

Part of software development and that ilk is the developer asking questions about what the client wants, but it isn't all up to the developer. If the client isn't giving sufficient answers (let alone, actual answers), the design stage suffers and so does the rest of the project (such as building, testing and implementation). I honestly can't fault Qombat if he found responses slow; constant developer and client communication is key.
I'm also wondering if anyone actually went ahead and contacted him via the MSN address he provided?
Either way though, in my opinion it looks like the best option now would be a music hosting site given that we are not restricted to our own CMS, especially as users on this thread have expressed positive comments on them. I know my opinion probably isn't worth that much as I haven't made any comments on a music section yet, but as an observer, just my view.
what does he need to get this going? I'm eager to get this project working, but he needs to approach staff to get the answers, rather than wait for us to come to him.

Well if he gave up, we can't really do much. Though having the forum wouldn't be bad. We could use other websites mentioned here for this rather than having our own CMS. So the forum is all we have for sure at the moment.
I'd need to see an actual way to upload this music first. I don't want to make a new section and then not be able to do anything with it.
