The point of this is to not go through extra work. Nobody wants to have to do that every time they wonder what time it is for a user.

The only problem I can think of is the fact that some users here are ridiculously secretive and may not want people to know even that much about them for some reason or another.

But I think the positives outweigh the negatives. UP

    Sounds good! UP

It helps in places like the Artist's Alcove and RPGs and even in mere VMs. If someone's in another country, you could be sending them messages while they're asleep. That would just be awkward.

Extra work? What extra work? It took me a few seconds to find it on the internet. *yawn*

Well if you don't know where they live then it doesn't help you much. And then if you are going to ask where they live you might as well just ask what time it is.

It works out the local time based on what timezone the user has set in their CP.

UP, but I do think they should be mentioned in a form of GMT. Because if it's gonna be put in EST, or CST or whatever, then most people (like me) will still have to look it up, making the addition slighty redundant.

The format is "2.12 AM" and such. It doesn't mention GMT or anything like that.

Hm, I thought you meant adding the timezone to someone's userbar. But I guess the actual time would be viable too.

I believe what the OP is saying is something similar to TVTrope's system; it shows when every post was made in whatever timezone you choose. So, for example, this post (to me) would read 6:36, while to someone in Europe it might read 8:36.
Currently writing Hoenn Wars, a Travelsverse fic that needs no prior Travelsverse knowledge to understand. Chapter Seven, Sacrifice, is up.

That's interesting; I might have a look when I have the time. Thanks!

EDIT: Oh my god, these are too many links! Very specific...
