Thread: Relax the picture upload limits of the albums.

I find that the current limits are not so appealing for people who like to upload larger and/or higher quality images. Also, this would also benefit those who have a lot of images to upload.

I would suggest that the maximum image limit per user be increased to at least 160. I would really like to see 200 if it is feasible.

Also, the maximum file size limit should be loosened. We can't really get away with high-quality images when the limit's 97.7 KB, huh? I would suggest at least 512 KB or something higher, if it is allowed. (97.7 KB isn't good for 2048x2048...)

Any comments?

For that matter, I have no idea why the image limit is at 97.7 KB in the first place. That's the limit for avatars. Album images should be much larger.

UP its hard to find animations that fit in the current limit..........

UP. Being forced to post crap on Photobucket or deviantART gets really tiresome.

Not making a specific comment on the plan, but we aren't going to be offering enough space to replace Photobucket or anything. We are not a picture hosting site.

Then again, loosening it up a bit might be at least of some use. If the original plan isn't feasible, then how about 256 KB per file? Or maybe 512 KB per file, 10 MB per account?

How about, if a user is fairly active, and wont leave and leave there images in their album and waste space, they can ask a admin too expand their limits?

Hmm... that might also work.

Also, what if instead of a total image limit, how about a total file size limit? 10 MB is close to 100 x 97.7 KB.

BTW ANOTHER SUGGESTION: STOP MAKING IT ALWAYS JPG. LEAVE IT AS THE FILE IS. SRSLY SOME PEOPLE LIKE THERE HIGH QUALITY FOTOS HIGH NOT MAKE IT REDUCED

The file type is left as is if the file size is smaller than the size limit. Which, unfortunately, anything remotely complex or large will exceed.
