Thread: Music Section

For the new Project Overgrow - since we have plans to put a new library in, and we already have drawing galleries, why not put up a music site as well?

It would make a great, although small at first, part of the site where people could showcase their originally created music, either from the Pokémon game soundfonts or otherwise.

This sounds nice, but I still fear that whole lawsuit thing from a while back.

I think this is a phenomenal idea. It could also include BGM from the anime plus everything else you said (as long as it's legal, of course).

Pokebeach and Serebii apparently got called by Nintendo lawyers asking them to pull down the B&W sprites when the games got released in Japan. It was a pretty big clusterfuck.

Anyways yeah we need to avoid copyrighting music at all costs.

And that's what the takedown policy is for >_>

The music should be all the artists' original creations in the first place, anyway, just like it is in the Newgrounds audio portal.

Nope, fanmade music only.

It'd just be a bunch of Yotube links, or it would look somewhat like the Oekaki. I say UP for now, but only because I don't know how it would look set in motion.

I want it to be a separate section of the site, more like the Oekaki. And the actual files themselves would be hosted on the site.

I'll vote UP, since I love good pokemon remixes but am hopelessly useless at finding them. Gathering them at on a pokemon website seems logical, it would go well with fanart and fanfiction.

And if we do this, we'll be the first major Pokémon fansite (that I know of) that will have done this.
