Thread: The like button

This would be mainly to prevent post like "^this"and "agree" and the sort...in which the poster wants to point out that s/he agrees with someone else. it would make the forums easier to read and opinions would always be there!

I think some people would end up using the like button for "funny" spam and such.

I think it's a goodish idea, even though it might cause some kind of popularity contests. Up.

I forsee the facebook problem developing, where someone says something horrible to someone else and then a third party goes in and likes it. It just wouldn't be nice.

Besides, isn't this just like Karma? (and we all know how that went)

Also, I think people would probably still spam, it would just be more annoying when they like something and then post as well to say exactly that.

I think this would cut down on spam infractions mightily. I say UP.

I would love a Like button, if possible. Some posts deserve the recognition. As long as there isn't a Dislike button, Up.

As long as there is no 'Dislike' Button, I'm goona say UP.

I am all for it, I believe i would cut down on SPAM, since instead of a thank you post or something of the nature, one could just like the post instead. UP

...because some posts really deserve it. My only worry is that, like others have mentioned, this could be used in a negative manner.

Oh, that wasn't the kind of spam I was referring to.

I mean such as people liking offtopic jokes. "Pikachu is SO gonna be released" in the Evolution/Capture/Release thread for example.

This would be convenient in many cases. But my fear is that too many people would abuse it and it would be an incentive for spam.

For now, I vote DOWN
