Thread: Increase the avatar size

Remember that a lot of our rules and such are in place to handle legacy connections/not-full-broadband that isn't all that fast. If everyone had 150x150 and a 300kb limit, you could force people to dowload 3 megabytes of avatars every time they load a page with 10 posts on it. That's a lot!

Even for people who don't have speed issues, many people are bandwidth limited due to their ISP and I think we have to be sensitive to that.

I'd be open to an increase, but I think it should be on the lower end of current proposals.

(Edit: Adding, for instance, my avatar is 115x115--but only a shade over 20kb. And I think it's more than sufficient.)

UP, to 115x115 or 120x120

However, Moderators and higher shouldn't be that much bigger, if at all.
130, 140, and 150² for each rank is enough (sorry to spoil the higher-ups' fun, but this is how I feel on the subject)

Alright, I've come up with this:

Users: 120x120 @ 120kb
Mods: 130x130 @ 130kb
SMods: 150x150 @ 150kb
Admins: 175x175 @ 175kb

These are the changes I am moving forward with.
