Thread: Hall of Fame.

If there is a hall of shame, why not? I know some good people who could go in this.

I don't think us normal users can see the Hall of Shame, so having the opposite just because there is an opposite isn't a reason for my vote.

I think that promoting users and good threads might be an effective method of promoting lively and thought-out discussion so I'm going to vote UP for now. Upon hearing the criteria for threads to go into the hypothetical Hall of Fame, I might change my vote.

I don't see the point. And that would mean that all quality threads would be taken out of their sections. So I vote down.

Hall of Shame died, and before it did, it was just a shitfest. Then it got locked, then hidden.

I honestly don't think a Hall of Fame or Hall of Shame is necessary. Can't we just rate the threads, anyway?

This would probably being alright, but after maybe two weeks or so it would just completely fall on it's ass. It would just become a infraction magnet.

If it's for users it'd just be a popularity contest. If you mean something like a karma system (ratings for users), then it'd just be sad if people would get voted down for no reason, maybe giving them some issues in real life if they're really insecure about themselves. If it's for threads, why take a popular thread away from the environment it clearly belongs in? It makes no sense. Plus you can already rate threads anyway. I'm voting this down either way.

I think a Hall of Fame has been suggested a few times before, IIRC. It'd turn into one huge popularity contest, really. Plus everything said above.
