    Default <VS> Region/Generation Fossils

    <VS><VS><VS>

    Info: Omastar/Kabutops <VS> Cradily/Armaldo <VS> Rampardos/Bastiodon <VS> Abagoora/Akeosu

Alright, here are the two fossils of every generation (not counting Johto of course). All are revived from fossils and all have a BST (base stat total) of 495 with the exception of Akeosu (Aakeosu?) who has 567 BST because of it's hindering ability "Faint Hearted". So on a statistical standpoint they're all on an even level.

Some questions you might want to consider when picking your choice:

    (In your opinion):
Which region has the better designs?
Which of these four pairs are the better battlers?
Who would win in a double battle?
Which PokePair would you consider using on your team?
Do any of their pre-evolutions make a difference?
    What about their stats/movepools/abilities?
    Which generation is better overall/preferred?

    >Voted Abagoora/Akeosu. Great designs. All the other generations had the other bring it down for me (Omastar, Bastiodon). Hoenn runner-up to Gen. V.

    >>Could not find a similar thread in this part of the forum, please tell me if you do. Thanks.

    >>>Thinking of more polls for Contest Hall, but I'll see where Kenhorou <VS> Wargle and this go first .

Wow, forgot to mention Aerodactyl in that huge post. But, yeah, I was considering adding him (her?) when I was making this thread. It has 515 BST and that WOULD make it a bit unfair. It would also give Tohjo 3 members instead of two, which would make my entire poll one-sided.

    >Oh, forgot about the effect of Akeosu's "Faint Hearted" ability in the main post (I'll tell you here because the one above is a bit crowded). Faint Hearted is an ability where, if the user's HP falls below 50%, the user's ATK decreases.

The falls that connect Kanto and Johto are called the Tohjo falls. I just refer to the entire region of Kanto-Johto as Tohjo. Omastar and Kabutops are under Tohjo because there weren't any fossils introduced in Johto.

Tohjo, mostly because of the poor forgotten Aerodactyl. Hoenn are close runners up. Don't like the others

Aerodactyl would be my favourite but I don't like Omastar or Kabutops but I do love Cradily and Armaldo. They have such awesome types.

    Let's see...

    1) Omanyte and Kabutops (and Aerodactyl) are the original fossil monsters based on popular fossils, and the only set that has two abilities each. The Water fossils are excellent sweepers in rain, while Aero is a decent lead and attacker. In my opinion, they are decent overall.

    2) Cradily and Armaldo are both based on more obscure prehistoric animals, and these choices are cooler, if only because they are based on animals that have interesting origins. Battle-wise, Cradily's a wall (especially so in Sandstorm) and Armaldo's a tank. They are the more defensively-oriented fossils, and I like defence-oriented Pokemon. My opinion: great!

    3) Rampardos and Bastiodon are based on dinosaurs, which are everyone's favourite prehistoric animals (certainly not mine!). They are the unstoppable force and an impenetrable wall respectively, and their stats and abilities even mirror that. However, they are difficult to take advantage of, as Rampardos doesn't have high defences and lacked original speed, while Bastiodon has a cursed dual-type. My thoughts: not interested.

    4) The turtle and the Archaeopteryx are another pair that are unique prehistoric animals, and in my opinion, the most realistically ancient of them all, since they both look like a real animal and have some ancient overtones on them. Battle-wise, one of them is a sweeper with a disadvantageous ability (which halves both attack stats when weakened) and the other is another tank. However, the Archaeopteryx is a nice suicidal sweeper (watch out for Bullet Punches!) and the turtle is a great tank that can transform into a fearsome sweeper (especially in rain). My thoughts: Awesome!

It's a tie between Hoenn's and Isshu's, but if I were to pick, I would settle for the lesser favourite: Hoenn.

Shieldon and Bastiodon are among my favourite Pokémon so I've went for them; but I love the designs for Isshu's fossils are brilliant. Anyone else loving the turtle?

Bastiodon's let down by it's typing and Rampardos' speed sucks the advantages out of its Attack stat but I think they and their prevos are designed brilliantly.

EDIT: I notice Sinnoh's not getting many votes; no love for Bastiodon and Rampardos? :(

Isshu's fossils are very strong, and have good designs.

Did someone say Cradily? Heck yes.

Kanto ranks in second though. With Sinnoh going third. And even though I like the turtle, I don't like the archeopatex (or however you spell it).

^Archaeopteryx. :3 I could spell it in the second grade lolol

But yeah, Isshu's. Not only because both fossil Pokemon are strong, but since one of them is an archaeopteryx. Isshu automatically gets my vote just for that.

Well now, looks like this is a very close battle :P.

    Tohjo: 6
    Hoenn: 6
    Sinnoh: 2
    Isshu: 6

Right now it's a three way tie between Tohjo, Hoenn, and Isshu at the 6 point mark, with Sinnoh behind by 4 points at 2 (not much love there, prove me wrong).

Also, everyone seems to be an Aerodactyl fan here, but I guess that's my point; Tohjo would win all out without even thinking. And like mentioned before, Aerodactyl would completely nullify the majority of my suggested questions. So, sorry about not including Aero in there, but I think that the poll is better off without. Don't think we would have such a close competition if I did put Aero in.
