Jalorda will win.

Venusaur uses Sludge Bomb .

Jalorda survived due to good defenses.

I choose Jalorda because of its more graceful, more green design.

I choose Jalorda! Because Venusaur is, well... ugh in looks. And that's just for the looks! And if it's battle usefulness, I had a better time with Jalorda, somehow. Ingame, of course.

This is a possibility, but Mirror Coat isn't that easy to get, and Jalorda still might not survive Sludge Bomb. Also, Jalorda would probably have to be trained to be defensively inclined to pull this off.

I like them both equally because Venasaur looks kind of ugly, but Jalorda looks weird and slightly plain.

Jalorda, purely for design. I like the bitch snake a lot. Venusaur, I don't like as much. I don't care who would win in a battle or who's better.

Well , you are right . Mirror Coat is an egg move , not a Level Up move , I don't know if Jaroda can survive Venusaur's Sludge Bomb , but I think he could since he has good defenses , but a Jalorda as starter can't have Mirror Coat .

Until, of course, you Mirror Coat but instead get hit in the face with a Sleep Powder. Then Venusaur is free to just pick you off at it's leisure.

Theres definitely a various amount of ways that Venasaur can end up winning this battle. Antagonist+Leaf Storm doesn't seem like a very good strategy to me because not too many people are going to let Jaroda pull this off ( Isn't Ice beam the most common attack out there?). Anyways, Venasaur does have better defenses and a good attack stat to Jaroda's bad defenses and horrible attack stat. Speed won't make much of a difference here.

Jaroda has bad defenses? Since when? Sure, he's got lower defensive stats than Meganium and his HP and Sp. Def are lower than Venusaur's by 5 points, but he's at least better in the physical department (plus he gets Calm Mind, if you're willing to give up Antagonist). Venu does have a better defensive typing though.

Jaroda can use it's speed to paralyze Venu with Glare. Of course, then it'll get put to sleep with SP and taken out with Sludge Bomb regardless, but at least it's speed was useful for something.

i think occasionally Jaroda will survive a sludge bomb attack but more times then not. Jaroda will not survive long to hit back with mirror coat.

The most damage a Venusaur with max Sp.Att EVs/Nature can take against a Jaroda with Max Hp/Sp.Def EVs/Nature is 240 HP. This won't KO Jaroda.

I always hated the Bulbasaur line. My vote easily goes to Jaroda.

Well now that's a conundrum. You both have contradicting calculations. How can we figure out who's in the right?

Not that it's not a moot point anyway because with Sleep Powder at it's disposal, Venusaur can easily take out Jaroda without having to worry about a Mirror Coat regardless of if it's a OHKO or a 2HKO.

I say Venusaur gets the win here. It can resist Jalorda's deadliest weapon - if you don't know what it is by now, you shouldn't be in this forum - and can destroy Jalorda with STAB Sludge Bomb. Oh, and I really don't like Jalorda's design. AT ALL.
