Aesthetically, Jaroda. But in battle, Venusaur rips Jaroda apart.

It's saddening Jaroda had such potential with its ability, but a godawful movepool and poor stat distribution was all GameFreak needed to do to shoot it down. Not to mention, Grass being the weakest type. They couldn't even give it a dual-typing.

I have never really liked any Grass starters except for Sceptile until Jaroda.

    I prefer Jaroda.

    Who's more useful?
I can't say that since I haven't used both, and I'm not competitive.

Who'd win in a fight? Venasaur.
As sad as it is, while Jaroda's a bro, Venasaur is a tank, and is the grass soldier you want in your Army. Jaroda's the cool guy behind the scenes, while Venasaur's the one out on the field doing the hard work.
Ultimately, I serve only one master... pure logic.

I choose Venusaur. It's my favorite grass starter and can do lots of roles.

Venusaur because it has sleep powder and a stabed sludge bomb witch would easly kill jaroda.

also it has a better move poll and typing.

also come on it has good def to with its 100 in spk.def and has 100 in spk attack and about 70-80 in most other stats

Also by far its my fav grass starter of all time!

While I grew up with the first generation starters, personally I've never like Venusaur. Don't get me wrong, I like Bulbasaur and Ivysaur but Venusaur just looked odd to me. Jaroda on the other hand looks pretty cool and not as bulky as other final evolved starters. Jaroda is also pretty speedy which is a plus point for me as I like speedy pokemon.

hey, i agree on the whole bad movepool consept and no dual typing thing(needs dragon)but grass is not the weakest type. bug is. and the pokemon that is prolly the worst to use in battle is mamoswine. its weak to almost everything

Statistics, my friend. Bug has three weaknesses: Flying, Fire and Rock. It also has plenty of powerful moves and good utility/support moves as well as at least one awesome stat up move. Examples of each include: Megahorn, X-Scissor, U-Turn and Butterfly Dance.

Grass has five weaknesses: Fire, Flying, Ice, Poison, Bug. While it does have plenty of powerful moves, it is also resisted by a whopping seven types. It has no good stat up moves but some pretty damn nice support/utility ones. Offensively, Grass is just a bad type.

Also, the Pokemon with the most weaknesses are all Grass types: Abomasnow, Exeggutor and Celebi (total of 7 weaknesses including one x4). The only Pokemon to ever have a x5 weakness is also part Grass (Parasect that have the Dry Skin ability).

Grass just isn't a very good type. Which sucks because it's by far my favorite type and most of my favorite Pokemon are Grass types. Still, facts are facts.

Very deadly with proper support, like drougt ninetales, charizard as a sweeping partner, Sazandora to absorb psycic attacks, and forteress for raid spin and hazzards, you got a deadly pokemon. well thats more of my a team now

    Battle supremacy? Venusaur!

    Desing? Jaroda!

I can't say that Jaroda is more versatile than the big grass boss, because he isn't. Venusaur pawns the snake anytime.

Isn't everything "very deadly" by nature if it's given proper support? Or are there things that are just moderately deadly (Ask a Ninja: Q-"What's your deadliest move?" A-"The one that kills you")

Anyway, Venusaur is better because of a great double typing, a much wider movepool and excellent stat distributions. Also, he's got a plant growing out of his back. How epic is that?
