Venusaur vs Sceptile

VS

Kanto Grass Starter versus Hoenn Grass Starter. As far as most fanon is concerned, these two Starters are contemporary to each other. They're also arguably the two strongest Grass Starters created so far (and in fact, two of the best Grass types in general). Venusaur has better typing, more bulk and support movepool. Sceptile has more speed/attacking power and offensive movepool.

Which do you prefer?

I say Venusaur. Of course, I'm going against the current here. Most people prefer Sceptile. And why wouldn't they? Sceptile is so far the only bipedal Grass Starter, he's the fastest one and he's the most offensively inclined of the five. Most people like fast sweeping over everything else. Me? I like a little bulk on my Pokemon. I'm also a much bigger fan of versatility. Venusaur's dual typing is also a plus for me. So, while I do agree that Sceptile is, in fact, awesome (one of my favorite Pokemon of all time even), I'm going to choose Venusaur.

It's a tough choice, but I say Sceptile

Sceptile gets my vote just because I like it a little more. Venusaur is still beastie though.

What I dislike about other grass pokemon is that they are either slow & bulky tanks/sweepers or sweepers without speed OR bulk.

As such, Sceptile wins this one because it has the speed and the raw power to not let great speed go to waste unlike some other pokemon. *coughJarodacough*

This was tough, but I prefer Sceptile's stats more than Venusaur's.

Venusaur wins. Sceptile's fast, but it has nothing to one-hit Venusaur, which can fire back with super-effective STAB Sludge Bomb.

I'd have to say Sceptile. Slightly more offensive and a much higher speed sat.

I like sceptile more, and in an anime fight, he's the most likely to win because of his speed, even though venusaur is part poison type. But in a game fight, venusaur will probably be the winner.

Sceptile is my all-time favourite pokémon. So yeah.

My Sceptile usually 2-ko's opposing venusaurs with leaf storm. Usually they try to sleep powder me, and if that misses...

Venasuar, better design and I just like it better for some reason.

I forgot to mention I usually have at least 1 layer of spikes and SR. But yes, it's a 2-ko.

Venusaur, by both design and usefulness. Never liked Sceptile.
