Thread: Shuckle vs Blissey

in one corner we have the rocky hard shelled Shuckle.
in the other corner we have the absorbent fluffy Blissey.

which would reign supreme, defense or HP.
my vote goes to shuckle because of rollout and toxic. (mostly toxic)

Blissey may have a lot of HP but toxic will get you soon enough. it always does.

Blissey would win. Shuckle might use Toxic, but Blissy would just use Refresh and Soft-boiled.

Blissey is a better tank than Shuckle, because Shuckle has extremely low HP. I also think Blissey looks much nicer than Shuckle.

You know, this is an interesting battle, but unfortunately, Blissey is dominant. Blissey has Seismic Toss to bypass the problem of her lack of offence, and Shuckle only has a maximum HP of 244, meaning that Blissey needs only three hits to take out Shuckle, even with Leftovers (do note that using Protect makes it four hits), and Shuckle lacks a healing move besides Rest. Shuckle can use Toxic, sure, but Blissey has options which can heal her, but usually will remove Shuckle out of the way. Besides Toxic, Shuckle has Wrap or Bind (don't remember which one), which can lower HP, which is good, but the problem is that Blissey can have Leftovers to bypass this. Best case scenario in spoilers:

Blissey uses Seismic Toss, Shuckle uses Toxic; (Poison x 1)
Blissey uses Seismic Toss, Shuckle uses Wrap; (Poison x 2)
Blissey uses Seismic Toss, Shuckle uses Protect (first); (Poison x 3)
Blissey uses Refresh, Shuckle uses Wrap;
Blissey uses Seismic Toss, Shuckle uses Rest;
Blissey uses Seismic Toss three times and win;

So, Blissey only needs Seismic Toss to become the winner, but I said usually, because Shuckle might use Acupressure or Double Team to increase Evasion, meaning the move may miss, but that's usually not be reliable. If Shuckle is faster or have more HP to take 4 Tosses and Poison damage, then Shuckle will be able to have a chance.

Blissey would win by a mile (Seismic Toss ignoring Shuckle's massive defense and exploiting its crappy HP, not to mention Blissey's great healing abilities), but I'll vote for Shuckle here. It's just so lovably goofy-looking.

Blissey because I prefer HP over Defense, and she has a better design.

Assuming we're not switching out, Shuckle can power trick and OHKO with no worries whatsoever unless Blissey's using a physical set for some godforsaken reason.

And if you're not Power Tricking with your Shuckle? Tough I guess.

Blissey wins 1v1, but Shuckle is funner. Why have epic HP when you can neutroize their attacks with Power Share?

Shuckle would need a creative use of items and moves to stand a chance, while Blissey is generally much more useful in many teams.

It's hard to pull off the murder-rollout thing, you know.

I think Blissey's HP outweighs Shuckle's defense. Shuckle's HP is too low, and as said already, Blissey can make up for its lack of offense, plus it can heal itself effectively.

Don't forget that Blissey also has Toxic.

Of course, Blissey wins here. Obviously. Seismic Toss is murder on Shuckle's piddly HP.

I voted for Shuckle, just because he is one of my favorites.

Shuckle is kind of cute, and it reminds me of modeling clay.

Shuckle gets my vote. I think if played right he might stand a chance... sorta.
