Sceptile... Oh so definitely Sceptile way better

Torterra can CRUSH Sceptile!

Torterra wins for me in terms of usefulness! Sceptile? Maybe in battles. But still, if it were Grovyle instead, it would have won instead. PMD2 did it for me.

Sceptile because he was my first starter ever. Torterra I love too.

I prefer Sceptile because it's more agile, cooler-looking and really jumpy.

This is a hard one, since I'm fond of both of them.

But I choose Torterra, because I like its design a bit more.

I voted Torterra because its awesome nuff said.

My vote goes to sceptile. It's pretty close though. Sceptile is fast and mono typed, which is good and bad. Torterra does better against electric types, but sceptile does better with ice. Torterra is slower and bulky, like most other grass starters. It can hit really hard with moves like wood hammer and earthquake due to it's high attack. Sceptile can own with leaf storm and solarbeam. I don't really like torterra's design as much as sceptile's. The only problem I have with sceptile's design is it's tail. It's too long. It should be non-existant. Sceptile would win in a battle because it's faster, so it can hit torterra with special attacks and beat it quickly. Grass moves also have a normal effect on torterra due to it's ground-ness. In the end it doesn't even matter sceptile wins.

Sceptile and its grass atacks are just too fast for Torterra.

Sceptile. all the way. Max EV's in S.Atk, choice specs, Solarbeam. Death to Torterra

Torterra.

It's really different to previous grass starters and the fact that it can learn Stone Edge & Earthquake helps it have an edge against Fire & Ice types.
Admittedly, Torterra is painfully slow compared to Sceptile, but it's a great tank.

Sceptile can learn the elemental punches anyway. An Ice Punch would destroy Torterra in a short time.

I haven't voted for Torterra, so I think I will this time. Not that Sceptile isn't awesome too.

My bad. Still, Sceptile has some monster Special Attack compared to Torterra's modest Special Defense, plus Torterra has no resistance to Grass-type moves. So Sceptile ftw.
