Thread: Rotom-W Vs. Itself?

In one corner, we got the electric ghost defensive spinblocker from generation IV. In the other, we got the better typed rotom, (IMO) electric water.

Gen V Cons
Looses shadow ball STAB
Looses Ghost type spin blocking

Gen IV Pros

Spinblocking ghost type

Who Will Win?

IV. The loss of spin blocking takes away huge amounts of usefulness.

Gen v due to it gets a STAB from hidro pump

I personally prefer gen IV rotom for spinblocking

Gen IV Rotom is better defensively, as well as being a spinner and having STAB Shadow Ball.

Unlike Fire/Electric and Grass/Electric, Water/Electric isn't a unique typing. However, it does perform better than Ghost/Electric, especially due to Levitate. It only has a single weakness to Grass-type attacks. So yes, I'll have to go with the 5th Generation typing.

Honestly, the only Rotom forme that was sort of screwed over in the fifth generation was Fan Rotom. I mean, Electric/Flying with Levitate? Sort of pointless.

Gen V; as in Gen IV, it looked to be Electric/Water, but was still Electric/Ghost.
Also, the STAB for Water type moves (As well as Electric, I think) is great; as well as it's typing, it would have an easier time taking out Fire types, because of the STAB.

G.V gives it unique typing for its forms, which in itself makes it much more useful. More defensive strategy options overall with the different type options, and STAB on unique moves. Ghost/Water would have made a bit more sense, but eh.

Gen V. Being a bulkier Lanturn will probably help.
