    Cool Purrloin VS Glameow

Who do you think looks and acts more secretive and sneaky, and who do you think is, well, of course, tougher?

From my experience, they both suck. But, purrloin sucks a little less :p

I`d say Glameow, because when it evolves it gets really fat and ugly (which I think is sneaky).

Purrloin has a better design and a cooler evolution. Thus, Purrloin wins.

Purrloin without a doubt. It actually looks better after it evolves. Unlike Glameow

    Purrloin's Base Stats
    HP: 41
    ATK: 50
    DEF: 37
    SP ATK: 50
    SP DEF: 37
    SPEED: 66
    TOTAL: 281

    Glameow's Base Stats
    HP: 49
    ATK: 55
    DEF: 42
    SP ATK: 42
    SP DEF: 37
    SPEED: 85
    TOTAL: 310

In terms of actual base stat totals, Glameow tops Purrloin in almost every category. Glameow's Speed in particular is extremely high for an unevolved pokemon. Glameow also knows a lot of useful status moves such as Hypnosis and Captivate through level-up.

Glameow can also learn more varied TMs than Purrloin. Glameow has access to Thunderbolt/Thunder, Swagger, and Taunt. Purrloin learns most of the moves Glameow learns through levelling up and TM, but the level up moves are primarily Dark-type physical attacks.

However, it simply cannot be a comparison between these cat-like pokemon without incorporating their evolutions in to the mix.

    Liepard's Base Stats
    HP: 64
    ATK: 88
    DEF: 50
    SP ATK: 88
    SP DEF: 50
    SPEED: 106
    TOTAL: 446

    Purugly's Base Stats
    HP: 71
    ATK: 82
    DEF: 64
    SP ATK: 64
    SP DEF: 59
    SPEED: 112
    TOTAL: 452

Purugly slightly tops Liepard in the following categories: HP, DEF, SP DEF, and SPEED.

Liepard is slightly better in ATK and surpasses Purugly in SP ATK.

Most of the moves Purugly can use via level up are physical normal-type moves and the attacks it can learn as a Glameow (Hypnosis, etc.)

Liepard basically learns the moves that Purrloin can learn via level up.

Liepard and Purugly can learn almost all of the same TMs as well.

The only generic difference between Liepard and Purugly is that one is more offensive based with petty defenses, whereas the other has higher defenses, a respectable physical Attack stat, and a petty Special Attack stat. Purugly can learn a lot of status moves such as Hypnosis, Attract, and Captivate that can cripple many pokemon. It also has access to a lot of different types of TM moves. The same applies for Glameow.

I don't wish to go into the "specifics" of evaluating both pokemon families, but I would say that Purugly VS Liepard could go either way. Neither one of them shows any real advantage over the other, and their base stat spreads are almost identical. (With the exception of SP ATK, there is no difference between any of the base stats greater than 10, which is almost nothing in competitive battling).

However, Glameow shows a complete advantage over Purrloin in battle considering its very respectable speed stat (especially for an unevolved pokemon that can be caught as early as Route 205). Again, it goes to a matter of preference.

It simply goes to a matter of preference.

Do you prefer a slightly bulkier pokemon with a higher speed stat, but not as good attack or move coverage that can compensate for a variety of useful status moves?

Or a slightly slower and "lighter," yet slightly more powerful pokemon that can pack a punch if possible, but suffers from weak defenses?

I actually prefer the bulkier and faster Glameow family over Purrloin's sweeper-esque battle style.

    I voted on Glameow.
I never had problems with Purugly's design and Glameow is a very beautiful pokémon.

Purrloin sucks, I don't like its design and it is so damn weak. I always defeat it with only one move. LOL

I picked both cats! I don't care if they suck in battle, I know they both are adorable and look great in Musicals!
Signature is a WIP for the moment.
For now, I have claimed: Mewtwo, Member's Card, Wide Lens, Honey Gather, and Psystrike.

I would choose Purrloin because you actually get to encounter a wild dark pokemon at the beginning of the game.

I don't really like either of them, but Glameow is better.

Also, I am offering my services as an Original Pokemon Trainer designer. It's free, but I might need time depending on your requests. PM for details if you are interested.

Offline possibly for the summer. Don't VM or PM me because I may not see it for a few months.
