Thread: A New Flame; Battle of Gen V fire types

After years of the Fire type getting little love by Game Freak, Gen V came a long and introduced a handful of new Fire types, 15 to be exact (8 counting fully evolved Pokemon only). But these fire types aren't useless like say Torkoal, they can hold their own in a fight, such and Hihidaruma with that Monster 140 base attack with STAB Flare Blitz boosted by Brute Force, or Ulgamoth with 135 special attack that can be boosted with the fantastic move Butterfly Dance, and lets not forget Shandera that can trap and 2HKO Blissey with Special Attacks alone.

Anyway, enough talk, lets see the smoking Pokemon in full glory:

Reshiram. It's not weak to water.

Sorry, Victini and Reshiram. You two are strong and very awesome, but I picked Baoppu/Baokkie. I love them too much...

Though the anteater and freakish moth thing are quite marvelous as well.

3-way tie between Victini, Reshiram, & Shandera x.x

Victini for it's 2 epic signature moves & it's ability, Reshiram for not being weak to water, & Shandera for that sp. att stat

Hihidaruma gets honorable mention for daruma mode, a lot of fun can come of daruma mode >D

I thought this was gonna be hard until I saw Victini ;)

Shandera is awesome, to me, it's the best Pokemon in Generation V. Although, I happen to think that all of these are awesome.

Reshiram is my favourite out of all them, because of design and typing. Meraruba/Ulgamoth and Hitomoshi/Ranpuraa/Shanderaa are close behind, though.

Shandera. Ghostly fire pawns everything.

Hmm...as much as I like the Ghost/Fire Pokemon family, I tend to pick the least popular ones. In this case, I would take the Fire starter family as a result, due to them being hated for their dual type.

Hihidaruma is obviously the best designed Fire type of Gen V. Reshiram comes to a close second.

Enbuoh! D8 My third female fire/fighting starter. It's a shame the "Journey to the West" refs didn't start with Blaziken. But eh. Plus, pigs! Pigs are adorable!

My vote goes to Shandera. I love its design!
