Thread: Moltres vs. Ho-Oh

As yet another entry in my Contest-For-Every-WeekDay-Challenge, I present to you a showdown between the two Legendary Fire/Flying Pokémon, Moltres and Ho-Oh. Who would win in terms of

Looks?

Battling?

All around coolness?

Personally I'm going with Moltres. He's the original, plus I like his looks much more than those of Ho-Oh. I just like him better.

Moltres looks like the plucked version of Ho-Oh that got set on fire.

It has never really had much of an impact in any of the generations in terms of battling ability, but it still retains a certain awesomeness in being from the original generation.

All-in-all my vote has to go to Ho-Oh however.

I like Moltres' design than Ho-oh's too.

I prefer Ho-oh's design, stats, and movepool.

Moltres looks better. I've never been a Ho-oh fan.

Ho-Oh, no contest. It's colorful, graceful, with a deep legend behind it, very powerful, and looks awesome. Has Sacred Fire too. Ho-Oh is among my favorite Legendaries.

Moltres is alright, but is probably my least favorite of the Bird Trio. It's just... a bird on fire.

In battle, Ho-Oh wins. It learns Thunderbolt. Moltres can't do much against Ho-Oh's massive Special Defense. Both can use Ancient Power, but both have the same Speed. As it is, Moltres has less chances to survive.

When not battling each other, Ho-Oh remains superior. It's an Uber after all.

I'm a big fan of Moltres, its my favourite of the legendary bird trio. I always like any pokemon that gets any hate at all for almost no reason(unless I have a reason to hate it) and I never liked Ho-oh nearly as much as Lugia.

Besides, Moltres looks a bit like my pet bird XD

Ho-oh. I like the movset/design more.

Rainbows>Fireballs

Plus, Ho-oh gets a whole tower to itself. Which didn't catch fire.

Moltres is okay, but Ho-oh isn't a rip-off of it, which is what this contest appears to be based on. The biggest similarity is that they're both fiery, birdy legends.

In any case, all around coolness and battle usefulness goes to Ho-oh, the Rainbow-Farter.

My vote goes to Ho-oh. I like Moltres, but Ho-oh's design is a lot better. I also kind of agree with the above quote.

I don't recall moltres representing the rainbow or being a version mascot. Though he's the first fire/flying legendary.
