Mewtwo, no contest.

Base 130 speed + Base 154 SpA + Aura Sphere = Dead Lucario.

Too bad Super Smash Bros. didn't do any justice to reflect Mewtwo's power, but they did with Lucario (tier wise).

Lucario, definitely. I have never been a Mewtwo fan. I never liked his design, and I'm just not a fan of psychic type Pokemon in general. Lucario, imo, looks awesome and I loved his movie way more than the first Pokemon movie. I also think Aura Sphere is a kickass move.

Also going with Mewtwo on this one. It's always been one of my favorites, and I've never particularly cared much for Lucario anyways, so it's no real contest for me.

I was actually pretty upset with Lucario replacing Mewtwo in Brawl, not only because I like Mewtwo more but I was better with it. I couldn't really get the hang of Lucario. :\

Mewtwo wins easily, he is still my favourite uber to this day. There is something about Lucario that has always rubbed me the wrong way. I rarely like the over-exposed Pokemon, and replacing Mewtwo in Brawl didn't help matters.

Well we don't want Pokemon to have too many reps in Brawl since Mario and Zelda only have 4 for their's, so it's only fair to have an equal total of Pokemon reps too. Replacing Jigglypuff is not an option due to the grandfather clause w/ the original 12 characters. Maybe in the next game when the # of reps is expanded to 5-6 and Lucario having no use to appear again for he's already done advertisement for the current gen.

Mewtwo. Most definitely.

I've always quite liked using Mewtwo, not to mention its better stats and movepool.

Mewtwo is a legendary.

Lucario, for many reasons.

It was my best Pokemon in Pearl and Platinum Versions, and it has one of the best designs in the entire series. The 8th movie... Lucario was EPIC in that movie (and it helps that it's my favorite movie).

And in Smash Bros.? If both Mewtwo and Lucario had been in Brawl, Lucario would own Mewtwo. But on a side note, I don't really think of Lucario and Mewtwo's replacement. There are enough differences to keep them from being clones. Why both weren't allowed in the same game made no sense to me, especially when they added Wolf (Fox Clone #2) and Lucas (Ness Clone).

I'll just quote smogon from their r/b/y analysis. Never heard a better line:

lol this seems like a joke question to me. Mewtwo wins in terms of stats, storyline, and the overall challenge of getting one. In terms of Brawl Mewtwo was still the better character overall, as it didn't take much to learn how to use him properly and effectively. Lucario's moves are a little weird at first and take a lot of time to get a feel for.

Then there's the fact that Mewtwo's a legendary.

Funny you should say that considering that Mewtwo's a bottom tier for being a light weight and a huge target, which is why I said the series didn't do justice to Mewtwo's power.

Well of course, but then neither did his second movie. There was no true way Melee could've done him justice in my opinion.

Mewtwo!!!

I think he has a really cool design. He's almost humanoid with a strange, mutant look to him.

Of course Mewtwo would win in a battle and is a better battler over all. There's a reason he's uber.

Mewtwo was one of my favorite Melee characters. Although it was tricky to play as and he honestly wasn't that great, he was still interesting and fun. I hope they bring him back in the next game.

In general I really love Psychic types. Especially the ones from Gen 1.

And finally, Mewtwo Strikes Back is probably still the best Pokemon movie to date. The Lucario movie was... ugh. Disappointing.

mewtwo thats obvious even in smash bros. mewtwo is awesome.
lucario has nothing on mewtwo. and just think its alot easier 2 get a lucario than a mewtwo in the games...
