Meganium, for Johto Pride, aesthetics, and tank abilities.
Meganium. Johto <3
back to being a non-edible pastry
-Which do you prefer? Meganium.
-Who's more useful? Tropius; the 'Fly' HM thing.
-Who'd win in a battle? Tropius; it has the whole 'Flying type' thing going on.
Tropius with Air Slash. Meganium just isn't my kind of Grass pokemon...
Meganium - Love her cos she's like a big dopey dino/flower thing.
maglev is invisible
Meganium wins, Tropius has low offenses to fully KO Meganium, nor does it learn any decent stat boost moves to use/moves to abuse with Dragon Dance.
-Which do you prefer? Megan the Meganium of course. The best Pokemon ever.
-Who's more useful? Meganium! Better typing and alright stats.
-Who'd win in a battle? Meganium can outspeed and KO with hidden power ice :D
Remember kids, if you keep eating your favorite food it will eventually start to grow on your neck.
I could not renember chikorita's final evolution for years, so It shows how much I like it. That compared to a pokemon in my top 5 favourite pokemon, it has not a chance of getting my vote. Not only is Tropius better lookin and more superior, it fould win in a battle as it can (somehow) fly.
Huge thanks to Blue Dragon for my EPIC avatar & sig
I had a hard time with this one. I've used Meganium more, even with Tropius's dual-typing.
But Tropius just has such an awesomely-weird design...
I mean, a grass/flying-type that is a combination of a sauropod and a banana tree? How high were the people on the Pokemon design team when they thought of that?
So in the end I went with Tropius.
Hi, I'm Rose. I love music, alcohol, pointless Internet debates and being a snob about my choices in entertainment. I write a lot. You can read some of my writing at Autostraddle.com, the best site for LBTQ women on the Internet, where I am a staff writer. Or the funhouse that is my tumblr. I also write music sometimes, and post the better fruits of my labors on my SoundCloud.
Tropius has a better and more developed design, plus I like its color scheme the most. Also, it is dual-type and Hoenn Pokémon > Johto Pokémon, imo.
Both Pokémons have a lot going for them. Here are the plus sides for each Pokémons.
Now the downsides :Meganium :
1/ Better overall defense stats
2/ Can work well as a supportive Pokémon
3/ Is the final evolution of one of the Johto starters, thus enhancing its fan popularity
4/ No glaring double-weakness to one of the most offensive types out there.
1/ Works well as an offensive attacker
2/ Has plenty of HPs
3/ Can use HM Fly, thus it can fill up both the spot as an anti-Geodude member and as an utility for the game
4/ Can be found in a route with one of the best Route songs from RSE (in my opinion)
5/ Free bananas !
In the end, I'd choose Tropius over Meganium, if only because I've never really been fond of the latter. Plus, being able to use a flying utility Pokémon against Water-type / Ground-type / Rock-type Pokémons is handy, too. Gotta watch out for the occasional Ice-type move though.Meganium :
1/ As a starter, its matchups against the Johto Gym Leader is one of the worst out there, only doing well against Whitney & Chuck. The rest of the cast are either super-effective against Grass-types in general, or they can simply resist Grass-type moves.
2/ Most beginners won't think "defensive" when they begin to play with such a Pokémon, since it is made for a supportive role rather than brute offensive.
status moves are your friends with Meganium
1/ A double-weakness to one of the best offensive types (Ice)
2/ A rather rare Pokémon in Hoenn, though it can be found in the Great Marsh in Pokémon Platinum.
3/ Is found in mid-game, rather than at the very start.
4/ The statement about free bananas is false, sadly.
