Thread: Isshu VS. Unova

I noticed there was a thread for the battle of the starter names, but not the reigion. So. Which name do you guys like better? Unova or Isshu?

Isshu. Unova doesn't sound like pokémon at all.

Unova-t? I don't have an Isshu with ether name, but if I had to choose it would probably be Unova.

I don't really mind about this name. I slightly prefer Unova. It's more international, lol.

I think they meant that it doesn't sound like it belongs in the Pokémon franchise (hence "doesn't sound like pokémon," not "doesn't sound like a pokémon").

I really like the Isshu name, and I've grown to it. Unova sounds like something from a sidegame.

Hopefully people don't give me too much shit for calling the region with its Japanese name. :/ Isshu forever, man.

I honestly can't say which one I prefer. I got used to calling the region Isshu so Unova seems very distant right now. That, and the fact that I have no idea how exactly to pronounce it...

I prefer to say Isshu.
Though the Spanish name (Teselia) sounds quite good too. Unova doesn't have my vote this time.

Unova. I usually embrace the English names, and I think Unova is great too.

I prefer Isshu as well.

I know the region is based off New York and all, but Orre on Colosseum and Gale of Darkness was apparently based of Phoenix, Arizona and it's name obviously wasn't changed in the localisation.

I also just prefer how with Isshu, it's pretty much pronounced how it's said. Unova, I don't know how to pronounce it. You-nova, uno-va? Eh? Isshu also just sounds better.

Unova is easier to pronounce. I was surprised that they changed the region's name, but Unova isn't bad.

I prefer Isshu. As others have said "Unova" Sounds like something that belongs in a side game, not a main series game.

However, I do sort of like it, but in the long run, the region known as Unova will be Isshu to me.
