Default Which Generation Introduced the Best Moves?

Generation 4 by far. This generation gave us many, many useful moves. If Generation did anything right, it was the moves.

    Generation 4 introduced:
    Close Combat
    Brave Bird
    U-Turn
    Sucker Punch
    Aqua Jet
    Vacuum Wave
    X-Scissor
    Bullet Punch
    Dragon Pulse
Dark Pulse (to give dark something special)
    Earth Power
    Aura Sphere
    Flare Blitz
    Nasty Plot
    Toxic Spikes
    Psycho Cut
    Night Slash
    Zen Headbutt
    Bug Buzz

There's probably so much more that I didn't list.

Mmm... Second gen for me, just for Zap Cannon and more badass attacks.

How about first gen? It did introduce quite a few moves haha

    Hyper Beam
    Earthquake, Rock Slide
    Explosion

    Fire Blast, Flamethrower
    Hydro Pump, Surf
    Thunder, Thunderbolt
    Blizzard, Ice Beam
    Psychic

    Swords Dance, Agility
Toxic, Thunder Wave, Hypnosis, Sleep Powder
    Recover, Rest
    Substitute

Most of those are all moves that are still good today. Where would we be without all these? This list of 1st gen moves is still the basis for competitive battling!

Gen IV. The fourth generation introduced the most powerful moves in the entire metagame: Stone Edge, Nasty Plot, Brave Bird, Close Combat, Flare Blitz and Sucker Punch.

    Honestly, I can decide. Why?

Because moves that were good in Gen I are not always good in later gens. Consider this: Body Slam was Standard on Venusaur. Body Slam. Now that move has no usability. Hyper Beam too was big back in Gen I. Now its one of the worst to use in battle.

Gen. IV. Bug type moves exploded, only to be added onto with Gen. V's Bug Storm! Look at some moves- Megahorn, Close Combat, X-Scissor, Brave Bird, Judgement (lol)!!! Four by far.

Generation 4, because of the Physical/Special Move split. It really opened a door for awesome new moves.

First. Of course needed to start things up and it introduced things that are still standard to this day.

Earthquake, Swords Dance, Psychic, and my personal favorites-- Surf and Thunderbolt. Just for a few examples.

Gen 4. The list is already put by the OP. Draco meteor is another addition and it also buffed up outrage and introduced stealth rock, the best move ever.

I can't really think of them at the moment, but it did introduce a lot(and ones that I think were good). And I meant Generation 4.
