Both are cool, but Gengar wins this for me.

This isn't all that random. Froslass and Gengar are the two fastest Ghost types, they have the same speed stat. But yeah, he misspelled Froslass hehe.

I choose Froslass, I love Ice Types.

I've never really cared about Gengar, so Frosslass is a clear choice. And it's ice type and a really pretty Pokémon, so it suits for me. I loved using Snorunt and Glalie back in Sapphire, but still haven't got a chance of using Frosslass though :(.

Gengar's the original, man. So I pick Gengar.

Gengar has access to Psychic types moves too. It also gets HP Fire, which is SE against Froslass. What's your point?

They have the exact same speed stat, Ghost is SE against itsel, Gengar's got better Offensive and defensive stats, one Shadow Ball from it would kill Froslass. Froslass' offensive stats suck a lot more than Gengar's defensive ones. They tie in speed, but because of this, Froslass may not KO even if she does go first. Gengar will always OHKO with Shadow Ball (barring Focus Sash). There's a reason he's OU and she's not.

Please, try not to let your bias against the older Gens just cuz they get the most praise cloud your judgement in these things. When you ignore the obvious just to show favoritism to the newer Gens, you just end up looking bad.

Design? Definitely the eerily beautiful Froslass.

Usefulness? I suppose Gengar. Froslass is useful as an annoyer and lead Spiker, but apart from Spikes and Snow Cloak, Gengar has and can more effectively use practically everything Froslass has, and with that monstrous Sp. Attack, it can sweep.


In a battle? It's pretty close, since they have the exact same Speed stat, and both almost always max it out, meaning that in usual cases, they both have 350 Speed (Level 100, +Speed nature, 252 EVs, and 31 IVs), and it determines by the Speed tie. But considering usual sets, Froslass finds trouble without Shadow Ball, but can pull off a win... maybe. They almost always have Focus Sashes, while Gengar most often have Life Orb, Leftovers, or a Choice item. (Of course, a Scarf would tip the game in Gengar's favor against SB-free Froslass.) Froslass may be lacking in Sp. Attack, but Gengar's not very defensive, either. If I'm thinking right, 2 Ice Beams are enough to KO it. One won't do enough, and Gengar will knock it to the Sash. Then it's all up to the Speed tie, unless Gengar has a Scarf or HP Fire.

The main point? The Speed tie counts.

Who would I use? I certainly use Gengar a lot nowadays, but I did use Froslass a lot in the past out of sheer preference. Gengar narrowly wins by usage, but by preference alone, Froslass is the clear winner here.

Gengar all the way. It looks fuckin awesome, has a good movepool, awesome speed and it is just flat out awesome.

Gotta go with Gengar on this one.
