Thread: Ferrothorn vs Forretress

While Forrestress can Rapid Spin, Nattorei can Curse, Power Whip, and much more.

Nattorei is great imo.

I could see it going either way. Based on typing it would be the bagworm.

Nattorei gets my vote.

Natorri. I like it's moves and typing better than Fortress's as well as the design.

I'm going with the original Forretress. I just love the originals.

Nattorei. It's grass, and I can already picture it being stuck to a ceiling xD

Forrettress is legit

Nattorei. I prefer its design much more.

Forretress. I'm not usually one to play the "ORIGINAL AND BEST!!11! XD" card, but here would be an exception.

Nattorei's typing is an automatic win, because a Grass/Steel is PWNsome. Foretress, on the the other hand, has a slightly better design by being simplistic and cool. Nattorei wins by a leaf, because it's a grass-type and has a cool and epic design.

Ferrothorn's type and ability is much more useful in my opinion and it can also be used as a highly offensive tank unlike Forretress. Not to say that Forretress isin't useful in it's own way, but it just can't do some of the many great things that I could get from Ferrothorn.

Ferrothorn. by a lot. I have used one ingame and it rocks. Forretress isn't that useful. Even on wifi, I have seen people get frustrated while facing my ferrothorn.

It's hard to choose, both are pretty great.

However Ferrothorn is more effective at being a wall that hurts things. Spectially most annoying water types.

Forretress can do other things though, like it is the better spiker/toxic spiker/spinner, exploding it is a better idea than exploding ferrothorn, and I guess it's more gimmicky.


But Ferrothorn is the better one. It has better stats and a better typing.

My vote goes to Ferrothorn for having a more appealing design than Forretress. It's also not limited to tanking/stalling with its access to Sword Dance and Curse.

Forretress actually has a better typing than Ferrothorn because it allows it to have only one weakness instead of two, and not to mention Smogon said Grass is one of the worst offensive types in the metagame, which could probably hint that they have no interest in OHKOing Swampert and Gastrodon with a single grass move.

It has the better typing for what both are supposed to do: Which in neither case is walling a Fighting type, and it WILL be able to take most non-STAB fighting attacks anyway.

And it has the better stats simply because Forretress doesn't have that good Sp. Def.

Meanwhile, Ferrothorn's typing allows it to pretty much stop Rain teams, and as you said, OHKO Swampert.
