Thread: Favorite type?

Though i prefer dark types, dark is a weak type. Dragon is surely the strongest type.

I really love Water and Dark, and Dark edges out as the winner.

Electric, followed by fire and dark.

Steel. Because most steel-type pokemon have good stats and it can be combined with other types for some very powerful pokemon (lucario, metagross, jirachi). Also, it worked together with dark to put those effing psychic types in their place in gen 2

Many of my favourites are Steel, Dark, Water, Ice, Electric or Grass types. However, I guess I'll go with Steel.

My favorite type is water, that's why my favorite Pokemon is Mudkip. Water types are generally great. Water is followed by Dragon, then Fire, Electric, then Dark and so on...

I suppose that there can never be enough "What is your favourite type" threads, because as of my time here, this is the 3rd one (the other two are in the Pokemon World general board), but hey, this is a fun topic to answer, and I am sure there will be someone else making the same thread in the future! Tastes may change after all. The links I found are:

If you ask me, I would say Grass and Ghost.

Grass is one of the types that has great diversity. No matter how much people criticise the Grass type, they will still have the diversity like no other. Physical Tank? Tangrowth. Stone Wall? Nattorei. Special Tank? Bijirion. Annoyer? Erufuun and Jumpluff. Supporter? Doredia, Jaroda, Meganium, etc. Trick Room sweeper? Exeggcutor. I didn't list all the Pokemon in each category, but you get the point that Grass Pokemon have the most variety, despite the overall type disadvantage in the type chart. Did I mention that every Grass type gets Swords Dance, and some gets Growth?

Ghost is special in another way. They were the rarest in those days, a characteristic that makes them fascinating to me in the first place, and every generation introduced few Ghosts. However, one cannot deny that Ghosts are among the few types that have every Pokemon being a viable Pokemon. Since Ghosts are not so diverse, I guess I can list down some of the stuff:
* Gengar - Special Sweeper, Annoyer, Revenger, and has great Speed.
* Mismagius - Special Tank, Perish Trapper, Stat-upper, and also has great Speed.
* Dusclops and Dusknoir - Ghost Wall with good physical attack, Trick Room initiator.
* Banette - Trick Room initiator and supporter (however, the least viable of them all, for now...)
* Sableye - Mischievous Heart user with no weaknesses.
* Shedinja - 12 immunities to take advantage of.
* Rotom - Amazing secondary type + ability that makes it a good special attacker.
* Rotom-A (only Generation 4) - Bulky Ghosts that has a special Special move each.
* Froslass - Spikes user, overall supporter.
* Drifblim - Unburden + Petaya Berry, Substitute passer.
* Giratina-A - Great Wall.
* Giratina-O - Great attacker with great resistances and immunities.
* Spiritomb - No weaknesses, Stat-upper, Wall.
* Desukaan - Ability disrupter, Special Attacking Tank, Trick Room initiator, Stat-upper.
* Burunkeru - Durable Wall with great resistances, and has great offensive movepool as well.
* Shanderaa - Special powerhouse, Trapper.
* Goruggo - Physical attacker with great coverage moves and either strong punches or moves that can't miss.

It's too bad that the poll is asking for one type, but if I were to choose, I would go for the Ghost, because they have the quirkiest of casts.

my favorite is a toss up between Water, Fire, Dark, Ghost, and Dragon. Though, my 1st favorite type i think may have been Water (of which im sure Misty is the reasoning behind lol)

Normal type for me, as quite a few of my favourites are/share this typing.

Grass, hands down. I just love Grass-Types.

Followed closely by Normal-Types and Bug-Types.

I think it's because you were searching the "Contest Hall" board for it. Those threads I searched are in the "Pokemon World" board. I thought you were intentionally posting this thread at first to be honest, but the way you say it, it looks like you didn't.

Geez, I swear that I searched the entire forum. Oh well, my mistake. Those other threads should have been in the Contest Hall anyways.

Steel makes for beastly defenses, and I have more favorite Pokémon of the Steel type than of any other type. Therefore, it gets my vote.
