Thread: Espeon vs. Umbreon

Umbreon, by a longshot. I love the Dark Type, and Umbreon is my favorite Eeveelution. In XD, I evolved my Eevee into an Umbreon, and helped in that game ever since.


Too bad I didn't have a Gamecube cable, so he's STILL stuck on my memory card :'(

So, which one do you prefer? Espeon. I like psychic type mons. I hate Umbreon and I find it over-rated.

Which one looks better? Espeon again. It looks cute and huggable.<3

Which one is more useful? Espeon. Magic bounce ftw. baton pass + magic bounce is incredible and some people even want it banned.

Which one would win in a fight? in 1 vs 1, it would be umbreon. But in a team fight, espy is better.

My vote goes to espy.

I love them both and used them in teams, but I like Umbreon's design just a little bit more(especially it's shiny form) and it fits my battle style(I've used pokemon of all styles, but I'm a defensive/support fighter in general).

Espeon, by a long shot. I really dislike Umbreon, I don't like it's design, I hate that it's all wall-y, it doesn't appeal to me at all. Espeon on the other hand, has a cool design, learns good moves and is really powerful. It may have a type disadvantage, but it does learn Signal Beam and Focus Blast.

I'm not really a type of person who goes for bulky/defensive Pokémon such as Umbreon, so he's a no-no for me. While he does look cooler than Espeon, Espeon has a powerful special attack which makes up for it. Overall, I prefer Espeon over Umbreon.

Umbreon, by a long shot. It's a staple on all of the teams where I can obtain Eevee in-game.

Espeon. But Umbreon's shiny form is pretty too, I guess.

Which one is more useful?

I'm going with Umbreon again, because I've never used Espeon in battle. Umbreon is a great Defense/Sp. Defense tank, and although its Attack/Sp. Attack is a bit mediocre, it does get the job done when defeating Psychic and Ghost type opponents.

Which one would win in a fight?

A well placed Signal Beam that turns critical from Espeon might KO Umbreon (it's happened to me), but because of Umbreon's immunity to Psychic and high defense stats, my bet goes to Umbreon.

So, which one do you prefer? Espeon, hands down.

Which one looks better? Espeon, particularly if shiny.

Which one is more useful? Espeon; Umbreon makes a crappy wall, and has virtually no noteworthy moves.

Which one would win in a fight? Espeon: Calm Mind & Signal Beam will smoke any Umbereon, to say nothing of Magic Bounce.

Conclusion: There's a reason why both of Espeon's color schemes (shiny and not) mirror Mewtwo's...

Which one do you prefer? Umbreon. It's a dark type.
Which one looks better? Umbreon. I abhor pink in general.
Which one is more useful in battle? For me, Umbreon. I tend to go for Pokemon with either high defenses or speedsters.
Who would win in a fight? Umbreon. Super effective STAB vs. STAB with no effect. Yeah, I'm going with former.

All in all Umbreon wins for me.
Also, how have I not noticed this before?

Which one looks better? Espeon. It looks graceful, especially with those glaring eyes. Plus I hate those tron-like rings on Umbreon's legs and forehead.

Which one is more useful? Espeon. Magic bounce, pls.

Which one would win in a fight? In a one on one fight Umbreon, unless Espeon gets a lucky crit hit.

4. Umbreon! I know Espeon has signal beam, but Umbreon has high defense stats and immunity to psychic type moves.

So, which one do you prefer? Umbreon because I like using it more than Espeon and it can be really annoying.
Which one looks better? Umbreon for sure. It's one of my favourite designs. I also like Umbreon's shiny form more than Espeon's.
Which one is more useful? Well... You can't really compare these two on who's more useful because they play different roles. It pretty much depends on your team.
Which one would win in a fight? I think Umbreon would. Umbreon is a really good wall. It has really good defence and sp.defence so a Signal Beam will probably not take down Umbreon in one shot. Umbreon with Curse and Payback is really likely to take down Espeon with one shot since it will be super effective and Espeon has really low defence.

Umbreon. It can KO Espeon in lees than 10 moves if it has all Dark-Type moves!!!

Espeon. It's arguably the best dual screener in the game. Umbreon can't compete with that.
