Default Egg Group Wars: Mineral vs Dragon

    Egg Group Wars
    Mineral vs Dragon

    VS

It's another battle between the Egg Groups, and this time, it's between the Minerals and the Dragons! Like the first two contests between the Egg Groups, none of them overlap the groups. One of the group is made out of inorganic wonders, while the other are organic wonders! Who will win? Before you answer, remember the Pokémon in their respective groups:

    Mineral Group

    Dragon Group

Maybe you can answer the following questions to ease your judgement:

    • Who are the best-designed?
    • Which are the best in battle?
    • Who will win between them?
    • Who do you prefer in general?

Thanks for reading, and happy choosing!

    Dragon Group
    • Charmander, Charmeleon and Charizard
    • Ekans and Arbok
    • Horsea, Seadra and Kingdra
    • Magikarp and Gyarados
    • Dratini, Dragonair and Dragonite

    • Seviper
    • Feebas and Milotic
    • Bagon, Shelgon and Salamence
    • Gible, Gabite and Garchomp
    • Zuruggu and Zuruzukin
    • Kibago, Onondo and Ononokusu
    • Kurimugan
    • Monozu, Jiheddo and Sazandora

Leans a bit to Dragon, but let's go:

    Questions:
    • Who are the best-designed?
Mineral. Awe at the designs of the Porygons, Beldum family etc.
    • Which are the best in battle?
Dragon, many are very offensive, and that suits me.
    • Who will win between them?
      Hm... A tie, perhaps?
    • Who do you prefer in general?
      Dragon it is!

The Dragon-type egg group contains more of my favorite Pokémon, and they are stronger overall.

What's funny about this matchup is that some of those Mineral group pokemon actually ARE the only pokemon that can stand up to dragons (Bronzong, Metagross, Magnezone in a way)

I actually vote Mineral. I have found Bronzong to be one of the single most useful all-purpose choices in competitive battling, and Magnezone holds a special place in my heart as Magnemite was the first pokemon I knew about.

Also, my last Pokemon Online team revolved around Shedinja (lol) so I'm still kind of on a Shedinja-high from that.

Actually, looking at the list, I really like most of the Mineral pokemon. Claydol was classically the most threatening pokemon on Steven's team in Sapphire for me (as bad as that is).

I also like using the trade-Onix in Violet City in the Johto games, so Steelix gets a point there.

And while I was not aware that Ice-Cream-Guy was Mineral, I sympathize with the little guy for being awesome but terrible.

I know, I put way too much thought into this...

Both groups are pretty awesome, but I have to give the nod to the Dragon group. Talk about loaded... Salamence, Sazandora, Dragonite, Charizard, Kingdra...

Alright, I'll give 1 point for the ones that I like, 5 points for a question, and 3 points for a tie to each team.

Points before questions: Dragon- 20(O.O guess dragon is winning)
Mineral- 9(wow, i was expecting more)

    Questions:

    • Who are the best-designed?
Well, this one was almost a tie, but the designs of Milotic, Dragonite, Dragonair, Garchomp, and Charizard won this battle for the dragons. +5 for the dragons
    • Which are the best in battle?
I like the offensive dragons because they are more offense oriented and that suits me.
    • Who will win between them?
This one was pretty tough, the Mineral group generally have good defense and could tough out the attacks sent by the Dragon group. Hmmm...ultimately, I think that the Minerals would win. +5 for the minerals
    • Who do you prefer in general?
This one is a tie, as I like the group equally(though I like more in the dragon group) +3 for the two teams

    Points after questions- Mineral- 17
    Dragon- 28

Points after adding honorable mentions(two points a piece)-
Minerals- Steelix, Metang, Metagross, Froslass. 25

Dragons- Milotic, Dragonair, Garchomp, Salamence, Kingdra. 38

Dragons win(wow, I think I went overboard this time)!!!
    Croconaw is officially claimed!

While I do like dragons a lot,(Salemence, Milotic, Sceptile, etc.) the mineral group is not to be underestimated. I will admit, the dragon group has a large amount of popular pokemon(4 pseudo's?!), I gave my vote to the mineral group soley for the sake of Metagross(their one pseudo, and a good one at that).

    Mineral FTW.
Magnezone, Metagross, Bronzong and Nattorei are there.

    * Who are the best-designed?
    The Mineral ftw.
    * Which are the best in battle?
Umm, maybe dragon, or tie. Dragon has a lot of pseudo-legendary Pokemon. But my fav pseudo (Metagross) is in Mineral :p
    * Who will win between them?
I hope Mineral can win, or tie. Beside Metagross, Mineral has a solid defense and a number of annoying staller and tricky Pokemon. A number of the best sweepers come from Dragon though.
    * Who do you prefer in general?
    Again, Mineral ftw.
    Time is not money.
