Hmm. i dont know who i like better[/sarcasam]
of course i like dragonite better. it could wipe the floor with not just salamence, but flygon, garchomp, and kingdra too.

Dragonite all the way,in the games salamence would get the first punch but in the anime dragonite is way faster i mean he could fly across the world in 16 hours.

salamence would probly go first but dragonite could probly take the hit as it has around 270def at lvl 100(my friends has like 312def)so i could take the hit form him then dragonite with dragon claw would own him due to him have nearly the same attack and salamence has poor def

Stat-wise: Salamence obviously has superior stats than Dragonite.

Ability: Salamence's intimidate could really be useful against Dragonite. While Dragonite's inner focus, meh?

Dragonite could learn more TMs including some powerful ones like Thunder Bolt. While Salamence just having average. It's really hard since both are pretty good competitive pokemons.

My pick would be, Salamance. Because he looks better (design-wise) than Dragonite. - I do not have a choice but I like them both anyway.

Who is more useful? Depends on how you use them. Dragonite has very comparable offensive stats to Salamence, but 'Mence's speed does make it a better sweeper. However, Dragonite can not only sweep, but has the bulk and movepool to function defensively as well. So I'm gonna say Dragonite for versatility (come on, you see a Mence, you know it's going to attack, one way or another. Dragonite's more of a wild card).

Who would win in a battle between the two? That is entirely up in the air, and dependent on the skill of the players, the movesets, and dumb luck. For my piece of mind, though I'm going to say that Dragonite destroys it's overrated successor xD

I dislike Salamence's design. Dragonite evolves from the AWESOME Dragonair. Therefor it wins.

Dragonite is a great Pokemon, but Salamence is undeniably a much better fighter. In terms of design, I honestly like both equally.

Salamence without a doubt. Its design is way better. I tend to favour Hoenn Pokemon in almost all cases but I particularly hate Dragonite for being ugly. Dragonair was pretty awesome. It deserved something better than this abomination.
